  • Looks like we just crashed their site.

  • Last day of the sale apparently.

  • Great prices!
Made me Googled for half a day at work to see what to do in LA.

my flight combination was the best value through 'flyfar'. after putting in the passenger and credit card details, i got an email advising

"There was a problem with your flight booking and unfortunately, your reservation failed to come back in a timely manner with a valid airline confirmation number. Your credit card has been charged for the original amount, please contact us immediately at 1300 014 402 or +61 2 8880 0392 (open 24/7) to complete your reservation."

When i got through to the operator they said the price of my ticket had gone up and they wanted an extra couple of hundred dollars to complete the transaction even though they had already charged my credit card the amount quoted on the website.

IWTF should consider whether they want to affiliate themselves with such a network as flyfar sounds like a big scam. I've had no problems with others such as bestjet.

    • I had a bad experience too with that website, not as bad as yours but I got charged an extra $100 on a $500 flight because they changed me In a foreign currency even though it was not notified anywhere.. was about 8 months back so I can't remember the finer details other then the missus was pissed at me for a week lol

    • 1 hour after they informed me by phone that the price was available, they are still showing it on their payment page.

Their prices are literally taking up the first 28 pages of search results in IWTF.

    • just pricematch at flightcentre…much easier and worry free

    • Hi - Sorry for the lousy experience. I have emailed FlyFar and hopefully they will get back to me soon. At the very least, they should be able to update their airfare API so that the flights at the cheaper price are removed.

Can you post the url which has FlyFar as the cheapest option - All the options that I have tried show Skiddoo and Bestjet as the cheapest.

  • Cheers for the heads up on the sales - we're heading over to LA in late Feb, so this fits perfectly, either with Great White Rat Air or Virgin' On The Ridiculous.

For those having issues, what I always do is take some screenshots of all passenger and flight info (until payment page) and take it into flight centre who always pricematch it (if its an aussie company) which bestjet and flyfar are.

Saves hassels and prefer it that way too

    Safe travels

  • Just spoke to fight centre they will match the price booked my holiday next year

  • Trip sorted.
    Thanks

  • Damn, that's a great price. I booked tickets a few months ago for November this year, around $950 if I recall correctly - but that came with a $100 prepaid Visa from QANTAS. This was with STA Travel.
