Don't know why but I bought one.

    Bought one.
    Will see the use later

    • My thoughts exactly. I want my drinking water going through a tap that is Australian certified. Rather not get lead (or any other kind of) poisoning just to save a few bucks.

      • thought about the same thing, how do we know this one is safe?

        • +1

Well because it contains a "filter net" obviously.

Have a unique fun and soothing experience

Is it soothing because your brain is slowly shutting down from the toxins?

      • Its OzBargain. People here think Australian certification mean nothing for electrical goods and are happy to save a few dollars at the risk of killing a family member or insurance being void if the house burns down because of it. Enough said.

        • +1

If this tap fitting burns your house down, you're doing something wrong ;)

        • Insurance isn't void because of non-certification in power boards though. Look it up.

Wish there was one that changes colour with the temperature of the water. That would give it some practical use on top of being extra cool.

      • Damn! Society delivers! It's a little sparse on the details of what colours it turns, but if you assume blue = cold, then this video suggests it can only do static blue, green or red. I assume it blue is coldest, red is hottest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2fI55FKsgM

If only it was RGB that could smoothly transition from blue to red. :)

Edit: I google searched for RC-F901, thought the video above had that in the description but it doesn't, so might not actually be the same product. Other videos with RC-F901 in the title only seemed to show blue or green colours.

        • Cold - Blue
          Warm - Green
          Hot - Red
          Scolding - Red flashing

        • @nocure: Why is the water scolding me? What did I do wrong?

  • How could I not. So I did. Thanx OP

  • Ever wanted to turn your kitchen sink into one similar to that of Masterchef

Sold! Now I just need a giant countdown clock and an extra 2 judges yelling at me to make the experience complete!

  • I'd be hesitant to buy any cheap crap from China that all my drinking water was going through. What with that Aldi tap with the massive lead content they recently stocked I'd want these tested and certified first.

    • The Aldi tap is a whole stainless steel tap, however this is a small piece of plastic, I personally can hardly can see a comparison being made.

Correct me if I'm wrong however.

      • No, you're correct. I didn't realise it was something that just pushed into the end of your existing tap. I'd still be hesitant about putting any cheap Chinese stuff on something all my drinking water passes through though.

  • Used Paypal got $1.23

I can see this going down the drain

  • From the questions answered on their page

"hydro-electric power. The water flow and circuit are separated"

    "no battery needed"

"The material is ABS (plastic), the surface is treated by electroplating."

Is there no metal required in electroplating?
