I think if you ask for a student discount (uni students only) you can get an extra $20 off not sure if people want to try.

    • hmm alright i see.. i will try that asking that tomorrow

Better to buy this spec on the Dell eBay store for $2,400 here with the "PICNIC" code -
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-XPS-15-Core-i7-7700HQ-512G-S…

    • And cash rewards.

yeah alright but its dell ebay and not from a store though… i just find that quite hard when it comes to warranty issues where you can't really talk to real people. Plus their laptops are shipped from Malaysia and I'm not entirely sure what problems would there be if it comes down to fault and warranty claims.

Dell eBay is run by Dell, is it your first time buying a computer? If your laptop has issue, you have to contact the laptop company, like HP, Asus or Apple…For warranty…And you can talk to a real person over the phone…

      • Fair call, but what I've heard from others it's coming from the same warehouse that the Dell Australia website is coming from and they give an Australian tax invoice and all (with ABN and GST included).

I've bought from the Dell website and any time I had any concerns it was just an issue of hitting up their chat to say hello and they bring a technician to come by your place to fix the problem if there was a hardware issue, but it's definitely easier to walk into a JB store for warranty concerns as they can see the issue in front of them.

        • Not sure why you got downvoted without any explanation on why youre wrong :L

      • I've ordered several dell machines for corporate use and half of them came from Malaysia. Even has a sticker that says shipped via malaysian airlines and this is ordering through the dell website.

If there's an issue with the machine, you can check your service tag and type it in the dell support page and call the number they give out. However as you said, it's easier to walk into JB store, but they will probably also take longer to sort out the repair if ever.

Dell support is a nightmare.. pay the extra and buy it from JB. At least you can return it if any problems.

Thanks for the neg by the way. Just take a look at the reviews on the JB page and countless other forums. This laptop is plagued with issues. Overpriced junk if you ask me.

Dell has been my best tech support experience, had the mobo swapped out on a refurbished gaming laptop, tech came to me at work, was great.

This laptop does not seem like a bargain to me, the touchscreen may be required, but these media style (not gaming, but generally high spec) seem to go for high $$$.

    • I've only ever had positive experiences with Dell support. Technician on-site typically next day or replacement parts shipped out very quick (1-2 days max).

    • Bought this in May 2017 and it's been running fine for me. Bought it also with JB as I prefer dealing with them. The laptop is really good and small for a 15.6" screen. Wanted a big screen laptop and 500GB SSD for work purpose.

    I'll have to say I am very happy with my purchase of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 7567 Gaming Laptop i7-7700HQ 16GB 256GB SSD+1TB GTX1050Ti 4GB for $1350 Delivered :)

While my unit is a referbished it still comes with the usual 1 Year warranty :)

Whenever I've needed to deal with Dell technology support they've been great. So much better than HP

    • I’ve dealt with Dell and HP support. They both suck.

I guess it comes down to personal experience.
