44

Hi all,

After checking, I don't think this is a dupe…. I also couldn't find when this deal expires on the Optus website when i posted this.

In total, you get 20 + 5 gig (total of 25 gig) of data with the usual inclusions being….

  • Unlimited Talk and Text within Australia.
  • 13/1300 and 1800 numbers

  • Upto 500 minutes to "selected" countries.
Austria, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia,
Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam

  • Entertainment:
Free data streaming on Google Play, iHeart Radio and Spotify.

  • CIS found here

Minimum cost over 12 months is $840.

I haven't tried the further 10% education / 25% chatting to them discount. This may or may not work.

Might be a deal for some……

This is really a bad deal. There is one that offers 15gb for $30

    • Which one is it?

      • The Optus Sport trial offer brings the $40 online plan down to $30

        • are you able to put in student discount as well?

        • @Izefyre: No, they don't stack. And you actually don't need to have had the optus sport trial offer to get the 25% off. Just talk to livechat

        • @Izefyre:

No, but multiple service discount does stack.

Just ported over 3 phones from Vodafone - sharing 21gb of data for $80/pm and Optus Sport

      • EPL Optus offer. Don't have link now

  • Not good value at all.

Very very bad deal. $70 should get you 140GB + Optus sport by default

      Thats a data only sim

I would rather join two $30 sim only plan (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/329255) than this deal.

Two $30 sim only plan provide 30gb data, two numbers and $10 cheaper.

    • That's a good idea actually.
Does that $30 15GB offer allow you to data pool? I noticed it shows the CIS for the $40 plan which mentions data pooling but the product page doesn't mention it.

      • Basically all Optus plans allowed data pooling.

telstra does 20GB for $59 if you talk to web chat

  • aldi mobile got better deal.

My experience with Optus would recommend that you NEVER get locked into a contract with them.

There are always deals on offer - Vodafone and companies that piggyback on them and Optus. (e.g. Kogan, Aldi , Lebara, Ovo , Amaysim etc)

And if you get stuffed around on a month to month plan can simply port to a different one.

Telstra doesn't seem interested in competing on price.

Whistleout is a useful comparison site

    • Agree, I can always find $30 prepaid sims for half price or better on this site. So on average paying $15/month for 3GB data (very occasionally paying full price), which is usually more than I use (and rollover takes care of the times I use more).

  • $70 for 20-25gb??? Not worth it. Optus doesn't exactly have premium coverage; even if you are paying a lot.
Get better deals at Telstra and Telstra resellers cheaper.

  • I have $70 with 100 Gig. Maybe 6 weeks ago.

    • That would be their data only sim, apples to oranges.

  • very expensive. This deal is not eligible to be here on OZB
