Not totally clear. If you are buying 3, then you are not buying 4. IE no cashback???

    • +1

Cash back promotion is only for Potenza tyres. 2 separate promotions here.

      I updated the title, thanks.

  • +5

Turanza Serenity Plus tyres are good and have tread depth over and above standard tyres. Expect long life. I've done 30,000 km so far on a set and tread depth looks like new. This is with the complementary tyre rotations every 5,000-10,000 km when you buy 4 from Bridgestone Select.

  • -6

Not a deal, they do this promotion whole year.

  • +1

Noob here. Which of these are the cheapest and how much should I expect to pay for 4 tyres for Honda Civic 2013 Sedan? Just looking to replace them for RWC so the cheapest will do. Thanks in advance.

    • -5

These are name brand tyres, therefore is not a deal for cheap tyres as such. Get some second hand tires if you just want something cheap.

    • +14

I would never put cheapo tyres on any of my cars. They are the only thing keeping your car on the road. You don't have to spend $250 a tyre but at least get something decent. I found Khumo KU31's decent and not very expensive, but I found them average in the wet and a bit noisey.

You need to give your tyre specs for people to give you an estimate. Look on the side of your tyres and they'll give you the size eg 235/40/18.

      • +2

        +1 to ku31

      • Unfortunately they don't produce the Ku31s anymore, who knows why? They were good tyres!

    • +2

Depends on your size, common sizes are cheaper, if you get an odd size, you pay 30% more. If you have an odd size, you might just want to use tyre calculator and change your tyre size to something else with similar diameter. Nexens and Hankook are typically value for $$, I find them cheaper than 2nd hand tyres.

    • +1

The firestones would likely be the cheapest tyre from my experience. However I bought some Ecopia EP100's a few years ago on this promo and they were slightly cheaper than the Firestones. The Turanza or Potenzas will be the most expensive.

Bridgestone also do a range of tyres called Supercat, which I believe are some of the older tread pattern designs that used to be stamped with Bridgestone… but they dont appear to be part of this deal. Worthwhile shopping around for tyres though. tyresales.com.au is worthwhile for doing comparisons. Sometimes the cheap tyres on that site have similar discounts or bogof deals.

    • +1

Just get a set of used tires of Ling Long brand from Gumtree.

  • hmm … no dueler this time? missed last deal when it was included.

    • Hope the Duellers are on special at the end of the year. Wifes Tiguan has them and they are great. Good grip and quiet, and should reach 60,000kms (they have 48,000kms atm and still have decent tread).

latest Bob Jane catalogue has some:
      Dueler H/P Sport
      275/40 R20 $335
      315/35 R20 $359
      Dueler H/L 400
      245/55 R19 $235
      245/50 R20 $309
      Dueler D687
      225/65 R17 $159

    • Looking for Duelers (Sport) as well

Costco has a Bridgestone sale A$70 cashback 16" and below and A$100 above that until 1 October for a set of 4.
      https://www.costco.com.au/coupons/c20170917.shtml

I guess that would be stackable with the Bridgestone Cashback?

225/55 R18 came out at A$341 before cashback.

  • How good is this deal?

My tyres need replacing soonish, not super urgent (tread still legal)….but probably have another 3-5 months in them.

    Rego due late nov.
    mazda 3 sedan, 2008, 195/65 R16

    • you need to do the calculations yourself

      for my SUV its $159 x 3 = $477

i'm pretty sure you could find equivalent koreans full priced for less than that but you're betting on whether BS is better than the korean

for a daily SUV I'd say its probably not

      for a performance car, maybe

    • +4

You have a odd tyre size, I'd drop to a 205/60/16, -1% diameter change and you save about $30 per tyre. The wider tyre and reduced space between the rim and tyre will have more benefits.
Dropping to that size also opens the option for you to get kumhos and hankooks below $100. I'd go for K415 mainly because i've lasted about 65k on that tyre to treadwear indicator.

      • how about 15" for a VW Tiguan and Holden Barina?

      • Thank you!! That's very helpful. I really appreciate your message

      • Would I need new rims/wheels for a R16 tyre?

        Mine are currently R15.

        • +1

Yeah you would. But why do you want to go to 16"? I'd stay with 15", its a more common rim size.

        • @supaderp:

          Thanks mate

        • @rendo: The last bit of tread always seems to go the fastest!! See if you can lock the price in for purchase in 4 weeks time.

        • +1

          @Peck:

Great advice, thank you. I submitted an online quote request, got the quote back for $363, for four tyres Firestone fuel fighters, plus $80 for front and rear alignment.

What do you think? Seems good. 195/65R15.

The best part is the quote is valid until the 31st of September. So I'll get another month also out of my existing tyres

          Thanks for the tip

        • @rendo: Good price. But unless an old car, I would skip the front and rear alignment. I am not an expert but I think it is like "Do you want chips with that?"

        • +1

          @Peck:

Thank you. It's nearly 10 years old. How time flies.

I love how my car feels when I get new tyres and an alignment. So I'll buy the fries and be happy with getting the fourth burger for free

      • is it better to change 215/60/16 to 205/60/16? on a camry

  • I might get some, I still have about 30-40% left in my tires and they're 5 years old sooo might be worth it.

Does anyone have experiences to offer regarding ecopia vs turanza? I really want a quieter ride but I dont know if the turanza will be worth it shelling out the extra $, also seeing as it's a softer compound i dont really want that.

  • I drive a Hyundai Veloster 2014 and just popped a tyre. Went to Costco to get a quote and the guy said 1 tyre would cost $270 (215/40 R18) or I should just changed all 4 since it's been awhile for $235 (225/40R18) each Michelin PS4 brand.
I clearly have no idea about cars so does my car apply to this offer or are there other alternatives where a tyre doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

    • I drive a Veloster (turbo) and that sounds about right.

    • They seems like a pretty good price for the PS4s in that size!

      • Only $4 cheaper than JAX.

At least JAX publish their prices. Bob Jane, not so much

  • +1

Can't say I've ever had a car where front and back have worn out at the same rate.

    • +3

      Rotate your tyres.

      • +1

They rotate every time I go for a drive.

        Only kidding :)

Good point, too much work for me to make the savings worth it compared to discounts offered on single tyres (or to pay for the rotation), but $100 cash back on this deal would tip the scales.

  • Anyone have any recommendations for a set of 235/45R18?

Been looking at Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (I currently have worn out PS3s) or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A with this cash back incentive? Open to other suggestions

    Cheers

    • +1

A guy on whirlpool got bridgestone S001 for quite a reasonable price https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2666392&…

    • +1

Not a fan of the RE050As. Came standard on my parent's Commodore. Atrocious wear - on the wear indicators at 32,000 km despite correct pressure, conservative driving and regular alignments/rotations. They also had a stiff sidewall (could be good or bad depending on your preference) and were a tad noisy on coarse bitumen.

A different car, but I've had the Pilot Sport 3s previously (twice in fact) and grip aside (can't make a direct comparison being different cars) the PS3s were a better tyre than the RE050As in every respect.

I've had the Potenza RE002s previously and they felt a bit more civilised than the RE050As. They were down a smidge on grip compared to the PS3s, but were still a good tyre. Heard good things about the newer RE003s, but I went the PS3s again due to a softer sidewall on the PS3s.

      Hope that helps.

      • Thanks for the comment redvaldez.
My current ps3s have been fantastic. I've probably exhausted over 50000km with then but they've run their course. Haven't had experience with Bridgestone but was tempted due to these cash back promotions and have heard good things.

Might stick with PS4s at a slightly more premium price.

        Cheers

        • The ps3 and ps4 is a completely different tyre. Same characteristics, quiet and good in the wet. But the PS4's a massive step above for performance, stiffer sidewall, more aggressive tread pattern, grippier, and they even look better (less of a rounded off tread pattern).

        • @broy:

Thanks for the information, think I've made my decision :)

        • No worries mate.

For what it's worth, the RE050As have been around since 2006 (or earlier). You then think about how many variants of the Bridgestone Adrenalin, Michelin Pilot Sport, etc you've seen in that time. Yes newer isn't always better but you do have to wonder why they wouldn't change it for so long.

    • I've had both. The Re050a's if you want a run flat if the tyre is a runflat. The sidewall is also stiffer in the re050a's.

But they are loud, worse than the michelins the wet, and are noisy when pushed hard. Michelin PS4's are also cheaper. I've made my choice…I've also had the ps3's, re002s, and re050a's (were oem).

  • Hi, can anyone recommend a tyre calculator? Or even a good tyre store in Brisbane? My car has got odd tyre size 215/55/R17 which I find quite hard to get cheap prices anywhere. Thanks!

    • I go to the Bridgestone Select in Mt Gravatt for my tyres and services. Dunno if they're the cheapest but I trust the guys there.

    • You probably won't have much choice mate. 235/45/17 is a common size but is likely to be too wide to be sensible for the rim. An old car of mine (Mitsubishi 380) came with 215/55/17 and there's a reasonable amount to pick from. Unfortunately because it's not a Commodore or Falcon it's not quite as cheap, but certainly could be a lot worse!

  • +1

    Isn't this deal ALWAYS going?!

  • I'll have a couple of new tyres for my Trojan.

  • I need tyres for a Hyundai i20, size 175/70R14.

    Any recommondations? Thanks

  • Not as good as a pure "but 3 get 1 free" for the Potenza tyres, but not bad either.

I wonder if they will do a buy 3 get 1 free for Potenza, or whether this is the new standard.

  • +2

if you are really keen on getting any of these tyres, my suggestion is contact atleast 3 to 4 branches and ask for a quote. You will be amazed at how different they are with regards to pricing. Even though they are offering the same type of tyres and carrying the same company brand. Don't forget to haggle down the price of wheel balance and alignment. Most of the time, you can have it incorporated with the price of the tyres as well.

  • So hard to find a good deal on 235/45/R18 with 98W load…

    Bloody Accord Euro… :(

    • I have the same car. Whats the best tyre & price you recommend?

    • isnt 45 profile on 18 inch wheels too big?

EDIT: is this for the 2nd gen accord euro or 1st gen?

      • CU2 so second gen…

Kumho got something this size but I prefer Turanza or Potenza…

        • Ahh makes sense for the 45 profile haha. Shame this time round the Potenza aren't 3 for 4 but instead cash back :(

        • @cheapoo: I got my Potenzas cheaper with cashback than 4 for 3. They offered a way better price, during the buy 3 get 1 free they seem to only offer full price.

        • Your tire sizes must of been very common for the cash back to be the better option. Got a quote around most places during the last offer. 225/40/18 go for about $219-$235 a corner :(

    tyrepower has it also

  • Thanks. Was just waiting for some promo thinking to get Potenza RE003

    • The cashback should get you a better deal. I got quotes during cashback and a 4 for the price of 3 deal and the cashback turned out better.

      • After looking around, I think I would go with Pilot Sport 4 as a lot of users comment that the grip level will drop and become very noisy after a while. Plus they dont very last long with the bad Sydney roads.

  • My Chrysler Grand Voyager needs 225/65R16 100H, which the Bridgestone site says they can't fit/match ;/

    • Spoke to a couple of tyre shops, and one is suggesting 235/60/R16 so I would have a wider tread, and slightly lower clearance and my speedo would be out by about 2%. Anything I need to worry about?

  • Guys heard Michelin Primacy 3 ST are good tyres. I have a Toyoto Aurion.
Weighing between these and Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003.
    Any suggestions/feedback ?

    • +1

The Primacy are more of a touring tyre whereas the Adrenalin RE003 is a performance tyre.

The Pilot Sport 4 would be a closer rival to the RE003s than the Primacy 3.

    • RE003 would probably wear out a lot faster compared to Primacy 3 ST or Pilot Sport 4. I am using PS3 currently.

      • Thanks for reply. Never seen a deal on Primacy 3 ST.
Is there something I should be looking out for or just expect to pay the normal price ?

        • I paid $170 each for 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires at Jax Tires and $55 for wheel alignment. Got additional $10 discount for giving them 5 Star on google review on the spot and the usual platinium package discount coupon stuffs.

  • +1

Usually these are just 4 tyres divided by 3 for cost. Just a heads up it's worth calling around as smaller companies can get them cheaper…

Look at Mobile Tyre Shop if you're in Melbourne or RoadRunner tyres in Sydney I've had great experiences with them and often price match these guys while bringing it to you without a callout fee… just my 2 cents

  • Got

    Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus TL 205/60R16 92V 4 * $172.00 $688.00

    Total - ($172 for free tyre) $516.00
    Services
    Wheel alignment - Front & rear $65.00

  • What are chances there will be a "buy 4 get 1 free" deal again for Potenzas by the end of this year? I still have the Bob Jane gift card from last year's Amex cashback deal…expiring end of the year :)

    • Maybe March 2018? Looks like a half yearly buy 3 get 1 free deals based on OZB history
