  • can you take these to an apple store for the 1yr warranty?

  • Thanks OP. Bought one.

    • You are welcome :)

You should really buy two if you want stereo

  • will they work on other bluetooth devices (ie.ps4 or tvs)?

    • PS4 - No
TV - Might work, have not tested it though.

    • I have one pair already, got from Myers deal. ordered another today for the wife.

AFAIK should with all devices that support Bluetooth LE. I have used it with my Yamaha YSP-2700 sound bar.

Weird that it doesn't work with PS4, must be some proprietary restriction Sony has put in.

      • I think they did at some stage, cause with the PS3 you were able to use bluetooth earpieces (the one you used for calling people in 2008) until they implemented software where it was only through official licensed products.

  • So tempted! Has anyone been running with these? do they stay in?

    • +1

Yes they do! You won't even noticed they're there most of the time. Heaps of postive reviews as well.

      • Yeh just looked at a few reviews.. Look like they will be fine! Ordered. Thanks!

Mine stay in most of the times but have fallen out while I'm running.
These are definitely not designed for sports.

      • I beg to differ. I ran almost 30km last weekend, and mine didn't move at all. Best earphones I've ever owned for running.

I previously had Powerbeats, which were good, but the cable between them would always cause movement, and in-ear earphones are not at all great when you start to sweat :(

The only thing I slightly miss is not being able to control volume easily, but the complete lack of annoying cables more than makes up for this.

Better to try them on for yourself, it all depends on your ear size.

      • Can you go into an apple store and try them on? Hygenicaly this seems like a weird product to try out..

        • Can you go into an apple store and try them on? Hygenicaly this seems like a weird product to try out..

Asked a guy who owns them and said Apple are happy for buyers to trial them for 14 days. I said it was odd hygienically speaking, but they were really keen on these trials.

        • I think they have demos in drawers to try on, you can ask an employee(genius?).

        • They do at some stores. Ask the sales people. They are wiped down with alcohol wipes before and after try on.

        • +1

@sniper: should not clean your ears for a few decades then when you remove them they'll be "ahhh you can keep them" lol

    • So many people running Sydney Marathon yesterday with them

  • These stay in quite well; personal experience.

Got one from the Myer deal by buying Myer vouchers from the Vogue Amex deal split over 4 cards which worked out to be $130~ out of pocket in conjunction with the ANNIVERSARY20 promo code.
So these would be cheapest and easiest to buy outright without much hassle, but probably isn't the cheapest ever.

  • Well as much as i love airpods, but, just a bit of warning, if any issue, Apple store in Australia does not take care of the warranty. I had one (even bought in australia), mentioned to me that my issue cannot be fix for free for some reason, although obviously under warranty they should, they told me to go back to original buyer and ask for refund instead.

My issue was my other party could not hear my voice when calling.

    • Where did you purchase it from?

      • Not Apple store. issue is that i did not have the receipt anymore.

        • Sounds 'shady'.

          @unco:

          Slim Shady?

    • Call AppleCare (1300 321 456) and reference your consumer law rights.
Tell them you’re too busy/far from an Apple Store and want to do a mail-in repair.

  • Hey guys

I got the old jaybird bluebuds x, how does AirPods compare to it?

Also the AirPods battery, how long does it actually last?

    • +1

I also own both, at least the 1st generation bluebuds x. The AirPods are definitely louder. With the bluebuds I'd need the volume close to full, the Airpods I use at 50-60% above 75% is usually uncomfortably loud. I'm no audiophile but the AirPods sound better to me also, though you don't get the sound isolation of the in-ear tips.

The battery last 5 hrs, actually I'd say slightly longer. The battery case has and additional 24 hrs. The AirPods themselves take about 20 mins to fully charge, so way faster than the bluebuds. I haven't timed the case but it's pretty quick to charge. If you're making phone calls they drain fairly quickly, it's rated at 2 hrs talk time which seems accurate. The microphone is only active in one so it drains faster. You can keep one charging in the case and swap them back and forth to extend talk time without disconnecting the call and the microphone quality is streets ahead of the bluebuds.

The really important question is how well they fit your ears. They fit me perfectly so I've never had them fall out.

seriously, $175 for electric toothbrush tip.

    • Huh? You brush your teeth with a $175 cumshot?

      • Huh!

What are people thinking about buying these when the new model with wireless charging should be coming out soon?
I don't believe Apple have announced whether the Airpods case will have Qi Charging or it will be proprietary.

    • It will be a new case that you will have to buy separately if you need wireless charging.. Airpods will be the same..
Plus you will need Apple Charging Mat.. $$$$

      • I thought they would work with any Qi charging mat.

        • Its still unclear until Apple announces it.

        • @GainGuru: From the Apple website:

"We wanted people to enjoy the convenience of wireless charging anywhere. So iPhone 8 works with Qi wireless chargers commonly found in hotels, cafes, airports, and cars. Belkin and mophie have also developed two new wireless chargers designed for iPhone 8."

Can still be interpreted as Apple assuming their proprietary chargers will be installed everywhere, but I don't think so.

It's only going to be an "optional" wireless charging case which you buy separately.
      Rumoured to be $69USD.

I believe the actual Airpods themselves are unchanged.

      • Didn't know they were going to be an optional extra, I bit the bullet. Thanks guys!

Am I the only one who thinks these things look ridiculous?

    • +2

You will until you got a pair.

does apple pencil have international warranty?

  • +1

This is best deal for the AirPods yet man so tempting

  • Got this neck strap for it. Pretty handy. It also has a magnet to keep them together when not used.

I got it for around $7 from ebay.

    • +2

..hmm good stuff but it kinda defeats the whole purpose haha…better off buying Jaybird or something if people don't feel secured getting airpods

    back in stock

  • when do they normally get delivered?

    • +1

      They state that

Will usually send within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment.

  • Got shipping notification email at midnight.

    • same, but the tracking details are not working. prob not on the system yet.

      • Tracking info up for me. Expect to be delivered this week. If it is Auspost, they should send from Victoria rather than HK.

        • yeah. mine started popping up. and its from Auspost. yay.

  • I just got mine and the connection is not as great as I thought it would be.. the signal is pretty weak when my iphone is in my pocket or if I move it too quickly. Anyone experiencing the same issue ? also does anyone know if these can be taken into an apple store ?
