  • Sony qualifies as a "big brand" so combine this with the PS3 bonus offer?

It doesn't leave much time to deliberate, it ends today.

  • Doesn't work with on big price matches either (though may depend on the salesman/manager). I price matched a 32" Sony on Friday and they wouldn't offer the 5 year warranty with the price match as apparently the price I got was below invoice cost (I just price matched the latest JB Hifi catalog).

  • yeah I was told I had to pay ticket price to get this offer as price matching voided this "Upportunity". I just wish the sales stuff at the Auburn store were so rude. I don't need to rent it either but they won't take no for an answer.

Auburn HN is soooooo popular on OzBargain………

These so called specials are lame. Nothing beats some hardcore bargaining……

Yeah I have to agree with this. Apart from the laptop deal (the two emachines that went for real cheap), I have never seen them consistent with the bargains posted here.

This also includes the cheap console games that never get marked down or exist at Auburn HN. Of course this is all just my single experience and really a derailment of topic (but it had to be said)

  • Best time to buy a new TV is between Xmas and New Year - mark my words…. The Sony centres will runout and HN will price match.

Words marked, but if it doesnt happen i am unmarking you so fast :)

      • same here. need a new tv from early december but may wait for post xmas sales

  • Hmm well I have to say all experiences with harvey norman in the last few weeks were very positive. Excellent sales staff and excellent deals.

2 weeks ago e-machine for $190 odd dollars
On Friday a Gateway intel i7 laptop (ID59C) for $1049 (normal retail for $2099)

I'm probably going to buy my 3D TV from them today, Joyce Mayne is also having a sale in Townsville and The Good Guys give RACQ members 12% off so I'll check them out first, but if prices are copmparable e.g. within $100 odd dollars I'm going back to Harvey Norman.

    • if you are going to buy Sony 3d then go today , if you are going to buy Samsung or Lg 3d then wait 1 week

why would you pay more to buy at HN
      ctrickey you are crazy :P

  • +2

the delivery cost is hidden in with the price tag of the TV.
p.s. harvey norman is a rip off.

    • Not if you know who to haggle well- they were unbeatable when I got mine.

      • Like to see you in action while this "Upportunity" deal is on. Other comments suggest there is absolutely no room to move.

    • Harvey Norman do have some rare specials, currently Sunshine (vic) have the Panasonic 42" Full HD Plasma (thpa2u20a) for $896 inc the 5 yr warranty and home delivery.

But not being a big fan of Harvey Norman, I got JB Hi-fi to price match this inc the 5 year warranty. It's currently on their back page of Catalogue for $998.

  • Well I was disappointed. Harvey Norman wouldn't budge on their price for the Samsung 58 inch series 7 3D plasma. So I ended up buying it from my local Good Guys. $2300.00 (cash price) instead of $2999 from Harvey Norman. I added another 2 years warranty for a total of 3 yrs and all up the price was stil only $2490.00 (about $1000 off rrp). That included 2 sets of glasses, a 3d blu ray dvd that comes with the sale and then a bonus blu ray 3D player and 2 more glasses + another copy of the same blu ray disc via redemption.

If anyone wants a copy of the invoice for price match purposes please let me know and I'll scan it tomorrow night. I complete the purchase tomorrow.

So while I was happy with my laptop purchase on Friday at half the rrp, and the e machine 2 weeks ago, I was a little disappointed that HN didnt even try to budge a little on price for the plasma today. Perhaps u guys are right, they must build the price of the warranty into the price for the tv. BTW the sales guy told me that the HN warranty is actually not very good.

    • Maybe you should neg this deal then if that was your experience - or revoke pos at least.

Sorry dude, but you've been had by the GG. I got mine for $2100 from JB including the 3d kit which was thrown in for free. With 5yr warranty and delivery, got it for $2479.

Plenty of cheaper receipts posted here:

      • Thanks McLaren. I'm taking a print out of the receipt for price matching today. Transaction still hasn't been finalised :) Thanks so much.

"had to pay ticket price to get this offer as price matching voided this “Upportunity”"
Not a bargain if you have to pay more for the TV itself…

    • Check my post… i mentioned that this would happen. It happens with every re-promotion
