I just want it on the record that I do not endorse this product.

I was looking for a cheap way to divide my room but without your endorsement I'll look elsewhere. Thanks, jv.

Maybe you should look into a jv-JVC JV?

      • look into a jv-JVC

        Will check out at JB

  • How is JVC as a brand? Used to be huge in the 90s and 2000s with their camcorders etc.

If you even need to ask about a brand, then you get what you pay for. Sony even bigger in the last century. You pay a premium, you get premium product

Not necessarily, some brands just aren't big in our region.

I.e. Xiaomi, Huawei and Oppo were pretty unknown in Australia 5-10 years ago. But in china they were massive, so it's fair for Aussies to have asked about the brands at the time.

problem is JVC back in the day were a decent brand, the Chinese bought up so many of these now defunct names & some people are fooled into thinking it's the same as the original manufacturer

        • JVC back in the day could never dream of charging the same price as Sony for the same range and the tech never measured up to the same level.

No one is fooled as the Chinese are charging 1/5 of the price of Sony for these brands they have bought. People buying cheaply and expecting Sony quality are fools themselves as well as cheapskates.

Too many of these people in this country, which is why you have great brands like Panasonic having to exit the tv market, never to return. Too many cheapskates buying at the lowest price possible and then complaining about quality.

          • @Fuzor: Save for 2 months more and buy a better brand. TV remote lag is atrocious on some and one of the few annoying parts of work.

Yeah bro just blindly buy products, great advice.

My first thought when I saw this ad were the JVC prizes on Australia's Funniest Home Videos. I guess that was great marketing since I still remember it!

      • Who could forget. That was a great show made better with the impeccable comedy from the late, great, Graham Kennedy.

Ahh, the memories… Had to jump on YouTube to bring those good times back. Really wish my mum was here—used to have such a good laugh together back in those days.

Still huge with camcorders and projectors I think.

      • +1

Yep… premium home theater projectors and are quite expensive

    Victor Company of China Ltd.

  • JVC by name only. Not JVC as remembered in Funniest Home Videos. Just another generic Chinese.

    • That may be the case for thier TV's, but they are market leaders in the high end consumer grade projector space.

  • So 98" is a mini by JVC's standard…?

JVCKENWOOD Corporation has granted a license to MTC to utilize its “JVC” trademark to sell “JVC” brand TV and Home Audio products

In October 2008, Kenwood merged with JVC to form a new holding company, JVCKenwood.

    • Dude, remember, the camcorder "you" used in 1985, and took to 1955 was a JVC… A proper JVC Camcorder that is, Made in Japan by the original parent company, Victor.

No reviews of this thing - closest you'll get is https://jvctv.com.au/products/jvc-98-inch-uhd-4k-miniled-sma… 1.2 stars.

    Hell of a gamble.

  • Id say over 65-75" Id be looking at a LASER SHORT THROW PROJECTOR and not a MASSIVE, EXPENSIVE TV

  • Is this not just a rebadge of the TCL 98" models that we see? (maybe the C755?) Or at least using the same panel
