Wii Remotes $40 at JB Hi-Fi

291

Wii remotes are only $40 at JB, this is a pretty good deal if you don't already have 4 remotes at your house unless you are waiting around for the new remotes to come out.

Think I'll wait around for Wiimote Plus with the built-in Motion Plus.

  • Very nice deal; but I'm the same; will wait around for the built in motion+.

  • Wii Remote Plus ($70) will be the same price as Wii Remote ($40) + Motion plus add-on ($30).

    • Exactly, at this price it should be bundled with the Motion plus when the new Remote plus comes out in a four days time.

  • At least it should auto turn on itself the motion plus feature for games that need it & ones that don't without need of removal or the like.

Play-asia at least adds up to $60 with shipping and while its a good deal for a remote plus, there's always the choice for people to get a regular remote if they don't want motion+ (like me). Can't think of anything but Zelda on the horizon with the motion+.

While I thumbs up this deal, I just broke yesterday and bought my 4th remote, so this timing is just not for me :(

      And?

This is cheaper for those who aren't interested in the remote+.

    • It's like comparing apples and pears..

    • While I'd rather buy hardware locally, I don't mind the odd negative to point out there is another option. Sometimes it's nice to jump straight to the neg vote to see what the cons/alternatives might be.

As abc pointed out, the Australian RRP of Wii Remote Plus is $69.99, which is definitely worth considering.

    • Well you certainly got shot down, but I appreciate the comment. I was going to jump on and grab 2, but thanks to your comment I was reminded of the motion+ crap… So now I'll try and find 2 of them for cheap.

      Thanks! :P

good deal! just spend 100+ to get extra remote and 2 motions plus?~! the timing couldn't be worse for me~!:(

  • Sweet as, was looking at buying a new remote today.. lucky I didn't pay the 60+ most places want!

Going to pick one up tomorrow. Cheers!

  • I didn't know that they were bringing out new ones, thanks for mentioning!

  • this would actually be pretty good if you didn't need Motion Plus functionality, which hardly any games support anyway (the most noticeable being Wii Sports Resort). Not even Mario Sports Mix will support Motion Plus…

I just had a look at the JB hifi site, anyone else notice that when you click on the blue, pink or black remote the picture that comes up on the product page is an njoy not a genuine wii mote? White one is the only one that looks normal. Weird though as the thumbnail pictures are all of genuine wii motes. e.g. http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/game/wii/wii-remote-blue/4826…

      Yeah I noticed that too..

  • Is this for all colours? Wouldn't mind picking up a black one tomorrow.

Edit: Looks like it is all remotes.

I feel sorry for those that are not aware of the Wii Remote Plus and new Wii bundle coming out to replace the current one.

Those who buy a Wii before the 28th will miss out on the new controller plus Wii Sports Resort.

This isn't really a deal if you read the articles as the current remote will be priced at $35 once the new all-in-ones come in? Though this pricing is only for black or white remotes apparently.

  • I can see the normal remotes price being lower than this when the new + remotes fully hit the shelves. Should be able to find real bargain at clearance prices then.
was going to -neg it just coz it was JB Hifi, but I guess if the price is advertised then you wouldn't have to deal with the arrogant staff there.

I'd read the voting guidelines in the wiki top right before you go making an arse of yourself with your opinion, some big haters in the ozbargain community!

      • Yeah I have read it. Maybe you didn't read all of my comment. I didn't vote either way did I ?
Anyway, I had given my comment on the price, but those who are happy to buy at this price then go for it, and I did comment that it was a good thing that it was an advertised price and not needing to deal with stuck up sales staff (from my experience).

  • For accessories I support the neg, as long as it's just the controller but for $10 I'd rather pay more at a local store than wait for play Asia in the mail. At the same time if you neg an aust v import, I don't think you should be trying to influence how ppl pay for it, some people don't want it in the post, some can't make it to a store, your just not to know

  • or wait till the wiimote plus is out, then maybe can pick up a second hand wiimote + motionplus cheap if people start flogging their old accessories.

  • I've decided I want cheaper! :) I can wait till the motionplus comes out and get some run outs.

Almost bought some today but indecision got the best of me!

  • anyone know if this works on pc with the wii emulator ? http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/

    • It's just bluetooth, so if you've got a bluetooth equipped PC, you're good to know afaik.

      • awesome yeah i just checked and the emulator supports bluetooth as well as 3D :) wow it runs games flawless and in Full HD .. unlike the REAL wii consol haha

Or you can buy the $10 ones off ebay and switch them in boxes? (Oops, i didn't say that)…
