It's Bing lee mate, not Goodguys, otherwise, coupon would be PGOOD20. Nice price, just waiting for 65" to go down.

    • Sorry I copy pasta'd from a previous Goodguys deal and missed that. Serves me right.

  • Still can't get over that I paid $2060 for mine muwahahaha :)

    • +2

Refurb? That's an incredible price, I bought mine before they dropped below $2500. I don't regret what I paid one bit though, this TV is amazing.

      • +1

        Yeah where is the proof?

        • That they paid more or that the TV is amazing?

    • +1

      $2,060?? Proof or didn't happen.

Paid $3175 on 5/8/2017 at Good Guys Maryibong/Highpoint. Came with a $300 eftpos card. A couple of weeks later, the price dropped to $2999 at JB Hifi across the road. I claimed Good Guys Price Protection against JB Hifi and they sent me another eftpos card for $214. ($179 * 120% price difference).

Then I claimed Price Protection on my 28 Degrees Mastercard, as the price was reduced for one night to $2388? or something like that on their ebay store. Added it to my cart, applied the coupon, and printed out the page showing the discount. 28 Degrees credited me $600 (max amount of discount according to the PDS).

So effectively, $1114 off :) Oh, and it makes for a gorgeous main monitor for my desktop :)

          Nice.

          This guy wins ozbargain.

I have used this technique before. That's why I love to shop with The Good Guys :)

        • As a monitor is works well then, clear text etc?

          Be perfect for a HTPC?

        • +2

@SamR: Yeap.. I use a 980ti, so I get 4k @ 60hz at 8 bit RGB uncompressed. That said, HDMI 2.0 is unable to display 10 bit HDR in RGB. Text is very crip. infact, it's a bit too crisp at times.

        • @Vladdo: Cant it do it but only in certain fullscreen applications? Or does that not use RGB?

        • -1

That would be insurance fraud since you the shop basically refunded you the difference.

        • 4k 55" monitor? Ew!! I am curious if you've had any burn in issues using as a monitor though? How many hours a day do you use as a monitor?

        • dat input lag

  • If your wife resits the purchase, tell he if the Little Rocket Man strikes, this will be the end of OLED as we know it.

    • +8

I really don't need to know what goes on between your wife and your little rocket man….

Bought this from the GG deal.

    Definitely an awesome TV

  • Seeing as TGG has a 30 price guarantee, and I bought the TV in the last eBay deal ($2455) about 2wks ago, do you think the price guarantee applies?

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/30-day-price-guarantee

They do have a clause about "bricks and mortar" stores which states:

"You can also claim against local competitors but only in store. The relevant local competitor must have a ‘bricks and mortar store’ within 30km of the relevant The Good Guys store where you purchased or picked up your purchase."

So unsure if this includes the eBay store of local competitors where you can pick up your purchase from.

    • No harm in trying, look at Vladdo's comment above, you might get lucky, let us know if they honour it.

Managed to get HN to price match in the ACT. They were having a sale at the time and had the TV listed for ~$2980 but they matched!

  • Would the TV box fit in a sedan (commodore)? Don't wanna damage it in transit.
If anyone has done successfully, please let me know.

    • +1

I know it fits in a Honda Civic Hatchback.

      Taken from the JB listing:

      Packaged Height (mm) - 810.0
      Packaged Width (mm) - 1446.0
      Packaged Depth (mm) - 228.0
      Packaged Weight (kg) - 24.8

      • Thanks mate :)
I guess from the hatchback you have access to the inside of the car. I can only get the box inside the car from the doors.
Thanks again for providing the dimensions. I will take the tape measure and see if it can get inside the car (using the back door).

  • Has anyone wall mounted this tv? If so, are the USB ports easily accessible? Thanks

    • +1

I have. The USB is accessible from the left hand side as shown here

There are also two poorly places USB ports as seen more clearly here which face the wall.

      • The ones on the left hand side I am assuming are easily accessed to plug the USB in?
