  • Been $10 cheaper this month on Banggood.

    • Not for version 2 with GPS I think, can you send me a link. Thanks.

      • +1

cymon mistook it for Non-GPS Module, this one was $7 more expensive.

        • Yeah my bad, missed the GPS and the BG wasn't clear on V1 or V2.

    • A119s v2 including GPS was USD$72.99 at the lowest point of the banggood sale

  • Hmmm I purchased 2 of the Kapture KPT-850 that were on sale for $99 at JB. I was actually waiting for a deal on the A119s V2.

Does anyone know which one is better? Should I cancel my JB order?

    • +1

The kpt850 has wifi and the a119s has a LCD.

      • I was wondering specifically on build quality and more importantly the video quality.

        • +1

          build quality = reliability

kapture from jb = 2 yrs warranty

          viofo = 0 aftersales support ?

also saw someone post about his viofo went dead after a while, check the kapture post yesterday.

    • I'm working the same too, I was waiting for A119s deal and the kacture came up almost brough it but held off. Hope I made the right decision.

    • Based on the youtube videos, the A119s looks better quality

      • Remarks on YouTube footage is their compressed so not true quality
And with kapture there wasn't any review that I founds for the 850 model, other models didn't exactly have glowing reviews

        • "didn't exactly have glowing reviews"

is it reliability issue or video quality issue ?

        • +1

Both are compressed tho, so they should both be crap based on that statement tho

    • Kapture KPT-850 that were on sale for $99 at JB

Ah I saw that. How is it?

    • +1

We've got a brand new a119s still in shipping packaging if you want to swap for one of your kpt850.

  • I have this unit and it's very good. If I had to do it again though probably pick up the same model without the GPS unit (and save a few bucks). Nice to have but really not that necessary.

    • Agreed. I picked with GPS and turn it off, don't even know why I chose that model.
Having said that my unit lasted 6 months before it started having power flickers. I moved the power cable from the GPS to the main unit and this seemed to fix the problem

      • That will be the mount between the camera and the GPS. The V2 mounts fix this issue (different design). I have the same with the wife's A119, but mine has stayed rock solid with the GPS mount so far.

        • Ahhh.. and here I was wiggling the cable for days :0

        • @letmethefuqin: my wife drove wondering where a "chime" noise was coming from. It was the startup sound of the camera each time it powered back on after losing the power connection. Was happening constantly lol.

      • +1

The power flicker - is this because you have V1? I thought they fixed in V2 with the spongey pad thing and new power pins?

        • The sponge pad is to reduce vibrations.

        • Yeah I have the A119 V1 , guess thats my problem then :)

  • +1

Just set this up last night. Looks pretty good so far.

Reminder to use High Endurance microSD Card - I bought a 32GB SanDisk one from the 18% off eBay sale for ~$22.

A useful feature of this that no one seems to mention is the ability to "lock" a video from being overridden (by pressing a button whilst recording). You can also go back to the "gallery" and unlock/lock videos as you wish in the gallery mode. This was a feature I was always after as the G1WC did not have this.

You'll get cable clips in the box - I wasn't aware of what the clips were until I after I did all the wiring LOL

Consider getting CPL filter to reduce reflections from your dash - can't quite tell if it's worth it yet though.

    • +1

Whether you should get a CPL filter or not depends on your car (windscreen angle), and where you mount the camera.

All I can say is if you have the latest model Mazda 3, and you're mounting the camera behind the rear-view mirror, you almost definitely need a CPL filter.

      • Ah damn I got sucked in to buying it assuming it would definitely help hahaha. I did a really quick comparison and felt like it didn't make it any better for my car…. maybe marginally, very marginally.

    • Do not use Sandisk cards with this model. It’s written all over the internet.

      • +1

Do not use non endurance Sandisk ones you mean. Yes, that is written all over the dashcam world of the internet.

        Source

        Quote:

SanDisk now makes a brand of memory cards that are specifically for use in dashcams. It is the SanDisk High Endurance line-up. This is the only line of memory cards from SanDisk that you should use in your dashcam.

    • ability to "lock" a video from being overridden (by pressing a button whilst recording) … This was a feature I was always after as the G1WC did not have this.

Mine locks the video if you press the menu button while it's recording. You can also lock videos in the gallery. Maybe it's firmware dependent.

    • With the G1WC you have to press the menu button while the screen is on to lock a video, so if you have the screen set to turn off after a few minutes you need to press the menu button twice (once to turn the screen on, then to lock the video).

    • I just received mine, would you be able to tell me how I can tell if it's the A119S V1 or V2? The box doesn't have anything on it and neither does the instruction manual.

  • I'm getting US$74.99 with standard shipping (7-30 days) free. The alternatives are EMS (4-15 business days) $20.23 and DHL Express (3-7 business days) $24.06. Any hints on getting free fast shipping to show up as per deal title?

    • Just select the free shipping option, the Rep has promised that all orders from Australia for this item will be shipped via eParcel.

    • +4

Hi Cleartype, zapals will ship with eparcel (5-8 business days with tracking) for this deal. Please rest assured:)

      • Any chance of upping to 2 per customer? Need one for me and the wife

        • +1

        • +2

          Ok now. Please try:)

      • Any chance you could give a deal for the SanDisk High Endurance SD cards to go with this Dash cam? :)

        • +1

Hi, I'll check with my team and get back to you soon:)

        • @zapals: Sounds good. Thank you. I'll wait for your response before I buy the dash cam :)

        • +1

@Dannyboi09: Hi, the coupon is sdvm0927. Also need to log in to apply it.

        • @zapals: Thank you! :)

  • How's everyone's experience buying the Viofo dash cam from Zapals? It would be my first time buying from them if I get this deal.

    • +1

I have ordered a lot of stuff from Zapals in the past and never had any problems. To set your expectations right, although the shipping method says 5-8 days, still allow about 2 weeks to include time for processing, packing and leaving the warehouse.

      • Nice. Thanks for the info. Have you ever dealt with warranty through them?

        • Sorry no, never had to chase up any warranty.

        • +1

@batrarobin: That's alright. Thanks for the info though. I'll jump ship and buy one from them :)

  • "This coupon usage limit has been reached" : (

    • Sigh, same here just as I was going to purchase now…..

      • +1

        ^ ^

      • +1

Hi, it's still working. Please try again:)

      • All Good :) I did exactly the same thing again (ie. clicked on link here, already logged in), and for whatever reason, it worked this time round. Yay!

    • You have clearly ignored to read the description.

    • Seems to work fine for me.

  • +1

Thanks. Picked one up, seems like a great deal for around $90 delivered.

  • +1

last time zapals sent me electronics in a padded envelope it arrived crushed - and they dont want to take responsibility …

  • +1

Hi, Bought one , cross my finger , last month I bought some and paid 59$ post , but in my account it just say " Processing " ..

    • $59? Where from!

  • Should I buy a 128gb micro SD card? It says it can take up to 128gb but unsure of whether I should buy such a large card or whether a 32gb or 64gb would be sufficient. What have people put into it so far?

    • unless you plan on using parking mode and leaving your car for days then don't see the value in putting a larger capacity flash in it.

      I have 16gb…
if you ever get into an accident you just need to stop recording/copy protect the file of the accident.

    • Purchase the biggest microsd you can afford. A 32gb and 64gb is overwritten 400% and 200% compared to a 128gb. The nand will degrade over time and constant rewriting will expedite this process.

      • but 1 year later, 64gb will only cost like $20

        • but 1 year later, 64gb will only cost like $20

Have a look at the nand flash price history. The bigger capacities has been holding its price the pass few years.

Besides the price of a 64gb may drop to $10 in two years time. Why not wait until then if price is an issue?

    • 32gb or 64gb would be sufficient.

Btw a 64gb recording at 1080@60fps will store about 6hr 25min. A 32gb is about half of that.

  • Hi
can u pls check that how come the price after discount code is AUD 100.38 now ? thanks

    • Did you read and follow the description? Could you provide more details like whether you paid in USD and where did it show you $100 AUD.

  • No option to buy the CPL filter or Viofo hardware kit ?

  • +1

    thanks
    got one.

  • Hi Zapals,

Can you confirm which V2 this is ?

    V2 is 7G F1.6 or 7G F1.8 ?

    • Pretty sure its 1.6 but i've contacted the Rep to provide official response.

      • +2

        Hi, it's 7G F1.6

        • Rep, do you know how you can tell (for an existing device that I already have) whetehr it is 7G F1.6 or 7G F1.8?

  • +2

Just ordered one tigers crossed, with all the good reviews hopeful this item isn't a dud

    • Cannot order, cupon expired!

  • For those that have this.. is it better to have WDR on or off?

  • "This coupon usage limit has been reached" again, every time!

  • Is it possible to turn off the speed display on this model completely? I don't want the speed displayed on video. It looks like it is embedded on the video after watching a few reviews?

    • +1

Yes, you can turn it off - just like you can remove the display of the GPS coordinates.

      • Great, thank you! Was a bit concerned about that but may as well pull the trigger on it.

  • I just received mine, is anyone able to tell me how I can tell if it's the A119S V1 or V2? I thought it would say V2 on the box but the box doesn't have anything on it and neither does the instruction manual.

    • My serial number has a119sv2 in there somewhere

      • Yup found it. Cheers

  • So it has been 3 weeks since I've ordered this. The tracking provided by Zapals only shows the shipment was "approved" but not yet "picked up".
Emailed customer service and they told me to check the post office. It wasn't in the post office. I am not feeling confident about this.
