Agreed. It’s like mobile carrier saying recharge $50 we give you $1 million dollars of call credit. They never mention it costs $10,000 every 30 minutes.

      Genius. Pure genius.

So what is your $/m2 rate ?

For anyone considering this or any offer like it, make sure you get a written quote and THEN mention the $150 discount.

    Who wrote this?!?

  • Updated. Sorry guys.

    • It’s illegal to price “+GST”. Please put GST inclusive pricing in all cases.

      • Not sure about illegal, more illegal to have price without GST and post that. Many businesses have this, but usually when selling to other businesses, not general consumers.

          https://www.accc.gov.au/business/pricing-surcharging/display…

When you present prices to your customers, you must state the total price of the good or service as a single figure, which is the minimum total cost that is able to be calculated. This should include any tax, duty, fee, levy or other additional charges (e.g. GST or airport tax). This rule generally does not apply in business-to-business transactions. This means you do not need to include GST if a price statement is made exclusively to businesses.

Hard to justify, given the DIY focus of the business.

        • @Steptoe: Yeah.
If the price is to consumers it should be an 'all-inclusive' price. There have been lots of cases of prosecutions for 'drip-pricing'.
It used to be legal to price stuff 'plus GST' - but no longer UNLESS it is made to businesses rather than to consumers.
However the GST Act has always made it clear that if a price doesn't specify it is deemed to be GST inclusive.

        So normal price is $250 + GST = $275.00
        "Bargain" price is $99 + GST = $108.90
        "Saving" $150 + GST = $165

        $275.00 - $108.90 = $166.10

Pricing need to be consistent, otherwise it is confusing.

    Snipped from website:
"If you hire a floor grinder at the equipment shop, it's cost could be around $350 per 1 day. and then you have to grind the floor yourself. It can be risky for you. risky for you."

    Sounds risky :-D

    • Thank you for find mistake.

I really like Ozbargain Forum. Everyone is helping me ;)
