The Lobster Cave – Australia’s premium seafood restaurant

Hmm now that is some creative marketing.

This review, albeit a little old makes for interesting reading…

    http://www.theage.com.au/news/restaurant-reviews/lobster-cav…

    • That was my favourite review of all time. I miss John Lethlean.

      • not a valid reason

I'd agree whole-heartedly with that review. I'll also add that they are in the Entertainment Book, but once you get there, they refuse to accept your Entertainment Card unless you order the most expensive options on the menu. None of this was described in their advertisement in the book.

We complained to the Entertainment Book publishers and they acknowledged that they have received other complaints about this restaurant.

I was tempted by the offer but thanks to the comments by elguapo and atlas I'll give it a miss. Can't stand restaurants that make every attempt to extract more money from their clientele while paying scant attention to their service.

I'll pass as well based on the comments here.

  • I semi regularly dine at the Lobster Cave and have always found them to be fantastic. Service is reasonable, and awesome food. I originally found them using the entertainment book and have never had a problem redeeming vouchers. In fact this year when I went there for my birthday they provided complementary two bottles of wine, a cocktail and a desert, (admittedly there were a number of us.). Anyhow, I would give them a big thumbs up and will be getting one of these deals.

  • In my haste I forgot to mention that the food itself was quite good in terms of quality and taste. Portions were also on the generous side. But nothing I can't get elsewhere, especially considering how far you have to drive if you live on the north/east side of town.

  • WOW my cats love Reef & Beef…

It is actually a nice restaurant and that review was 5 years old, improved a lot since then.
Renovated, new executive chef and better quality food.

    I say good bargain!
