Milk Chocolate Digestives. Love em. Thanks OP

Tried the nibbles. Thought they'd be a clone of maltesers, which in fairness they were
    ..
    Very, very old maltesers.

It tastes like a more decadent version of maltesers, the filling is creamy yet still has a bit of airiness like maltesers.

    • +1

I like them better than malteesers. Less sweet due to biscuit centre than sweet malted meringue-y texture that malteesers has. I like the ones in dark blue packaging, it has the biscuit centre with double chocolate coat (milk and then dark).

    • No way these are awesome, go through a bag an hour when I buy them

Time to stock up again. Thanks OP.

Added another 12 packs to my stocks today. Thanks again.

  • Got excited and thought it was half price digesic tablets.

These come highly recommended as one of the leading Aussie substitutes to American 'Graham Crackers' when making s'mores. Quite tasty; always a big hit with the family.

      They're from the UK :D

first three ingredients: flour, vegetable oil and sugar … nice!

    • I was surprised when I first found out how unhealthy these were. Livestrong.com recommends against eat these regularly, citing very low nutritional value, added fat and sugar. The sugar itself is not insignificant at 2.5g per biscuit. Equivalent to 3 to 4 coke mini can's worth of sugar in every 400g packet. Bit of a shame as I think they're quite a tasty snack.

Do you really need to consult a website for advice on whether it's healthy to eat chocolate biscuits regularly or not?

        • Sorry, I should've been more clear. This isn't for the chocolate version, it's for the plain wheat biscuits. A pack of 400g plain wheat biscuits contains 67 grams (equal to 17 teaspoons) of sugar. I can understand if the chocolate version is loaded with sugar, but I didn't expect this of the plain wheat variety.

Livestrong.com recommends against eat these regularly.

I justify eating dark chocolate McVities Digestives and double chocolate Tim Tams by only eating them when they're on special.

Keeps my sugar intake down - except when I eat a whole packet in one day!

Thanks OP, I love McVites Biscuits, everytime I am stressed, I have some of these, then my stress is instantly relieved.

I take digestive biscuits for my ptsd

      • +2

I take them as a suppository for constipation.

        • Dark chocolate might keep you regular.

  • Good base for cheesecake :)

    Why no hob nobs?

  • +3

If only it included the Hobnobs variety. Still good though. Thanks OP :)

    • Should do - they are part of the same promotable group or family

      • If it does, worth noting that Coles now has regular Hobnobs without the chocolate - at least they're new to my stores.

        • Plain hobnobs are not included into this sale, my local Coles has them for $3, however chocolate covered hobnobs still $1.85 :)

        • @Hedgehog girl: Finally checked my store and not even the chocolate Hobnobs were on sale. Wish I stocked up on plain ones when they were at the introductory price of $2 - since the others are usually included in sales I thought there would be no need.

        • +1

@ethan961: False alarm, they just forgot the sale tag on the chocolate ones as they ring up at the proper sale price.

Note: the "digestive" is a misnomer. These biscuits do nothing for your digestion. They are wildly popular in England. Not bad with a cup of tea.

    • +3

many moons ago they probably contained some fibre but now they are just refined junk food. might come in handy in the event of a famine to fatten you up …

    • +4

You mean inhaling highly processed junk food consisting of refined flour, sugar and vegetable oil WON'T help my digestion? Beam me up, scotty

    • +1

a misnomer probably increases the sales in a significant rate.
