Definitely very cheap if you are happy with the shipping time. I bought these on launch day and due to arrive this week.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142421110943 - $10.25

Anything but the free shipping on Aliexpress is crazy expensive to bring the time down.

  • +8

What I did was just buy a long (3 or 5m) hdmi cable for a few dollars from MSY and just stick the nes/snes next to the couch.

    • +5

      Yup same.
Have a power strip with USB ports (One of those Xiaomi things, another Ozbargain favourite) next to it within my coffee table which works conveniently enough to keep this powered, and due to the way the fake reset button works for savestates and getting back to the homescreen it's more handy to have the actual console itself at arms reach anyway I reckon.

Still, these are pretty damn cheap at a few dollar each compared to the $16+ dollar ones the Eb games guy was trying to push onto me.
Might actually grab one so player 2 and I have the potential to spread out a bit more :)

    • Convenient for slamming on the reset button if you're a rewind fiend.

  • +6

Haha, I knew there was a reason I said no to the guy at EB suggesting these at $17/piece (note: while I picked up on Saturday, this has become a Xmas pressie for me, so no issue waiting).

  • I don't have either console with me atm, do the NES extensions work with the SNES?

    • +2

Yes, they're identical. Also compatible with Wii.

  • Wonder if there are any converters to convert these to standard USB? hmm..

  • can someone please check the shipping on the 3m cable, i'm getting stupid prices to Aus

    • +1

nevermind, shipping goes up on 3m if you add more than one.

  • +2

EB were offering to sell me these for $16 or something when I went to collect the SNES

    • +1

Yeah same, it was kinda greasy. I watched the guy in front of me get loaded up with an extra $40-odd worth of cables and AC adapters.

I politely declined all of their 'special deals'.

    • +1

With such a high mark-up one cable makes more profit than the console!

I wonder what the trade-in value of this console is at EB atm…

    • +3

Yep, ebgames upselling pressure puts 'do you want fries with that' to shame. The staff member tried to stress how the extensions and USB adaptors were 'on special' that day only when collecting the console.
Ordered a couple from ebay for AU$2.27 each the same day the pre-orders came out.
A wii classic controller in 2p saves me the horror of getting up to press reset while still letting me play with the snes-clone controller included with the mini.

  • are people getting the 2m or 3m ones?

    • Depends on what you need. I'd need 2m for the lounge and 3m for my bedroom or friends house.

  • Shipping time?

    • Says 23-47 days for me.

  • Not a bad price but the delivery times is a tad long for me to wait. I got two 3m black ones from ebay for $13.99 coming from Sydney in the next week.

  • What is the original controller cable length for the classic?

    • +1

      Just measured mine is 137cm.

      • I think the poster means what is the 90's SNES controller length. I think they were 2mbut possibly 2.4

        • Didn't realize that the original snes was called the 'classic'.

        • +1

          @ausbob71:

          …apology accepted.

        • @hell0it wasn't any apology.

    • i just measured my controller from the original NES (not the mini), it's roughly 220cm

  • +1

If I try and add more than 1 it charges $22.45 shipping. Anyone getting that issue.

    • Buy 2 separate transactions. That's what I did

Isnt it a bit hypocritical to buy 3rd party cables instead of buying the genuine Nintendo ones? I mean thats the whole reason OzBargain loves paying $100 for the official console in the first place, because the money goes to Nintendo (otherwise why bother when when you can just emulate it for free). Or am I missing something?

    • Def missing something mate

    • I imagine a major reason for going official are the official controllers. The other reason would be the neat/awesome appearance of the console (instead of a Raspberry Pi 3 without a case).

Neither of these are affected by cables (although at least they are colour co-ordinated)

    • +1

I got the original console when I was a kid, so the console itself is a collectable, a memory for me. The extension cable is not, and I don't miss the s-video nor an antenna splitter neither.

    • There is no genuine ones. The ones at ebgames are third party, not nintendo.

  • these are for NES and not for SNES as the title suggests

    • +2

They are the same plug type

      • +1

oh wow, just saw the video that the front cover pulls away for the actual ports. I thought they had made a snes controller connector for it.
        awesome

  • +1

Great deal, but I just ordered a pair of 8bitdo bluetooth adapters from core electronics for wireless, supposedly works with my existing BT controllers. and can get one of those neat looking "modernised snes" controllers later on to get old-school controller feel back. Seen some people strip the casing off them, and fit them inside the snes mini case, so you can keep that flap on and have a clean looking, wireless HDMI-ouputting snes!

  • I got x2 3M black version, thanks!

  • I ordered 4 of the 2m black ones, should daisy chain just fine into 2 4m cables. I’m guessing it’ll be 5 weeks until they arrive.

  • Thanks op
Picked up 2x 3m White cables

Will return the EB games 2m cable I got flogged for $12!!

Guys any deals on the AC Adaptor?

    • +1

Use any AC adapter you have lying around for a phone. I literally have like 30 of the bastards lying around.

    • I run mine off the USB port on my TV!

  • This isn't OZRRP.

Oh wait just saw the snes classic mini in the title. :P

    • Pretty cheap for 3m of insulated copper.

  • +1

Cables will do until these are released:
    http://www.8bitdo.com/sn30-sf30-2_4g-for-snes-and-sfc-classi…

    • What's the difference (other than cost) of these compared to using the existing bluetooth adapters and controllers?

  • I like lisa cabler

  • Ali xprs

  • Hmm, mine still haven't arrived.

    • I received a tracking number which shows them being delivered to Tasmania - I live in Victoria

      • +1

I kinda wish I just bought the ones at EB Games. For the last month I've been tethered by the short cable. By the time they arrive sometime next year I'll probably be sick of the SNES mini. Well no I'll never get sick of it, but it's super annoying not having those cables sooner.

  • Mine just arrived on Tuesday, guys.
