If it's Australia Post it's never to your door anymore. I think I'd rather walk into Office Works and pick it up in person for an extra $10.

  • Thx for the deal op. I tried checking out with the 2tb seagate hdd and made a new account logged in and put in promo code WDBU6Y0020BBK. The cart still displays $105AUD for the seagate. Could u look into this issue before your deal expires? TiA

    • Sorry my bad, I added the wrong info on the main header. I have corrected it. Look and re-enter the correct code.

Thx op i found the code STEA2TP1 to use with the seagate 2tb. I purchased 2 x 2tb seagate for $179. I paid using cc but have to pay the 1.5% surcharge (extra $4). Its much safer than paying via dd n if something goes wrong the customer cannot claim their $ back on dd. Perhaps if u get more business then u can get rid of the extra surcharges? 2.5% for paypal 1.5% for cc. The price was $181
I finished the checkout process but it didnt even ask me for my cc payment details?
Crap now i just finished checking out n now my order goes up to $193.60
Im not happy seeing all these hidden charges. The courier fee should be shown at checkout ($181) not after it says checkout success n then i go back to my account to see it go up by $193.60

There shouldnt be any extra charges. Let me try to contact them.

UPDATE: Because of their "rustic" website, they cannot automatically remove the surcharges. Once you process the order, they will manually reverse the credit card surcharge.

        • @sm007h:
Thx op lmk. Esp since your post says $89.95 delivered.
          My Order is #325339.
          Thx

@AzNDuDe: Once you receive the drive, let me know if there are issues with the charge to your credit card. We had to do this manually for our previous deals too and they seem to be on the ball since I didn't receive any complaints for the Bose deal.

        • @sm007h:
Yes sure i will let u know. They havent sent me a payment request with my cc details yet so i will wait for them to request those details n ask them for the $89.95 delivered price each.
Omg why so many rules on the site its already a headache.
They just sent me the verification email but then i saw that free email accounts arent allowed.
Things like that scare potential customers away.
Using a weird email domain doesnt stop fraud

        • @AzNDuDe: I totally agree with you, but they have been in business for over 20 years at the same location. I am guessing things happen, new rule added to prevent that thing, and more things happen. I have no idea why they do the things they do, we are just humble wholesalers.

        • @sm007h:
Thx for the response op. Yep anything can happen in this day n age.
Could i make a suggestion to send to them? to not allow a customer to sign up using a free email address while registering?
I will have to wait till i go home now before i register using my other non free email address.
Once i register then could u tell them to cancel my current order so i can order using my non free email address to go by their rule.

I stopped buying the WD 2.5" portable drives when they began permanently attaching circuitry to the drive, making it impossible to switch out a drive into a new case. Anyone know if these Seagate drives are still able to to be switched out or have the gone the same way as WD?

    • +2

I belive u can shuck out the seagate portable drives. It should have a sata port when u open the case. I believe this one is a 7mm 2.5" hdd inside so it will fit into your ps3/4.

      • Thanks! I don't need them for a playstation - I use multiple drives for backup, and prefer ones that can be easily swapped out in case of damage to the USB socket or controller.

You could go to MSY and get a 2TB drive for $89 standard price for a

    "Seagata 3.5" BarraCuda 2TB ST2000DM006 SATA 6Gb/s 7200RPM 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive"
    or
    "WD 3.5" Blue 2TB WD20EZRZ 64M 5400RPM SATA3 HDD"

and if you have to return for any reason like warranty you will not pay shipping cost.

Wrong type of drives dude. The ones you listed are desktop HDDs, these are portables - they do not need an external power supply. All powered by the USB connection.

Urgh, second edit - the second drive you listed is internal.

  • sorry my bad

No worries. By the way, this is the same exact hard drive as the one Officeworks is selling for $99 (that got a ton of votes at that price too)

  • Ok just ordered the Seagate drive and requested to pay via Paypal. How does that work? Never redirected me to Paypal to pay? I also presume they won't charge me the 2.5% surcharge?

    • They will send a refund for the CC charge. As I said earlier in the post, if there are issues after you receive the drive, let me know and I will take care of it. We are paying the charges on your behalf, so its basically our money we are chasing up with IJK :)

      • Hi I got my hard drive today but it is dead. Makes a strange noise when I plug it in. Tried it on 3 different computers. How can I get it replaced.
I'm actually really disappointed with the lack of adequate packaging provided for the hard drive. It was shipped in its original tiny box with only one layer of bubble wrap. Who knows how it would have been handled in transit.

        • Send me a pm of your contact details and i will swap it out for you.

  • How long does it take to ship to Melbourne?
I may buy one before I head to overseas in 10 days
    Thank you

    • Hard to say, we use fastway couriers and some times it takes 1 - 2 business days, other times it takes up to a week.
