    (no sarcasm. im dead serious)

  • +1

That's correct, 10% off any genuine APPLE product in store

  • -4

post multiple deals in this one post I have reported others as spam

  • +8

vwh - and how many times have i posted in that time? Geez, it's now been fixed, get a life and a bargain!

      • +3

VWH - its smarter to REPORT issues like this to the MODS and let us handle this, then everyone will gain. Starting verbal wars helps no one. You are now making this a personal vendetta.

You demanded the posts be combined, now they are you are rightly pointing out the other "deals" added are really deals, so the GOOD part of deal is now being lost… So really the other posts should have just been left alone, and died on their own or let us MODS just kill them.

        • -2

Don't know if this would be better discussed in forum, but if it is, please move to forum.

          While I agree that I may over-reacted, I don't quite get 2 things:

          • "So really the other posts should have just been left alone" - So it is OK to post multiple deals from same seller? If yes, then maybe the posting guidelines below need to be re-visited.

          "Too many deals
Store reps can post about offers from his/her store. Stores should have only 1 rep. Stores should post no more than
          1 bargain per day
          2 bargains per week"

          • Is a negative vote can only be valid if it is based solely on the deal's face value and absolutely nothing else (the customer service, or how ethically a company is doing business, for example)?

If yes, then I don't understand why COTD is banned in the first place. As far as I know, it's only because so many people here don't like the seller, and not the actual deal itself.

But, I personally think it is the right decision as "bargain" is a perception of value, of the whole factors. Not just prima facie face the price of the goods being offered. It's the whole experience. It is the reason why we will pay more to eat at a 5-star restaurant.

Anyway, reading the "voting guidelines" again for the xx times, it is quite ambiguous and confusing for me, as on one hand it says that it is ok to neg if something is wrong with the seller, but on the other part it says it is not a good enough reason.

        • vwh,

So it is OK to post multiple deals from same seller? If yes, then maybe the posting guidelines below need to be re-visited.

No it is not ok. As far as I am aware, the current rule for stores posting no more than 1 bargain per day / 2 bargains per week still apply. Issues like this are best reported, as mods can get to them as quickly as possible.

Is a negative vote can only be valid if it is based solely on the deal’s face value and absolutely nothing else (the customer service, or how ethically a company is doing business, for example)?

Not quite. Treat negative voting as a warning or an alert mechanism for other users. So yes, you may vote negative if you have had personal bad experience directly with the business or know of poor ethics from the business that are worth sharing with other members. But these normally require more details or evidence to back up the claim to make them as useful warnings for other members. Otherwise we'll see a lot of negative votes with the reasons 'I've had bad experience' or 'this is a dodgy store', which doesn't really help others without knowing what went wrong.

COTD is currently banned not because members do not like them. They're banned for sockpuppeting, which is considered a serious breach of guidelines here as it undermines the integrity of the voting system.

But, I personally think it is the right decision as “bargain” is a perception of value, of the whole factors. Not just prima facie face the price of the goods being offered. It’s the whole experience. It is the reason why we will pay more to eat at a 5-star restaurant.

Fair point, and I'm of the same personal opinion. However there are others who may have the opposite opinion, that a bargain is all about the price. Hence why discussions on deals are encouraged. And because opinions are subjective and varies from user to user, they are not valid reasons for voting negative as they are not really warnings.

Since the multiple posts issue have been addressed and corrected, I'll also be revoking your negative vote as per the voting guidelines:

Negatives left to ask for corrections to a post are also helpful (eg a condition left out of the title) but may be removed after the corrections have been made, either by the original poster or a Mod

      • +2

How is that abusive? It was totally justified.

      • +1

Lazed, This is mod report material let us handle things like this, it's not really a negative vote issue. The deal is a good deal on the Mac side, VWH started the abuse, its not their role to lecture posters about their actions, thats the mods role. - while I dont agree that Cubic should have reacted the way they did, and your opinion is very valid, again its really not negative vote material.

  • +2

well im not an apple fan, but if apple fanboys were making a big deal about 5% off an Ipad, 10% of everything seems pretty good no?

So good deal in that regard….

  • -1

Just checking - is this is 10% off rrp?

  • +2

It is 10% off the marked / ticketed price, NOT RRP - so grab a BARGAIN!!

  • Only in Brisbane? Any NSW store?

    • Coffs Harbour, Albury, Fyshwick

      • This is a bit misleading. None of those stores above stock iPad, iMac, Macbook etc.

  • This offer available online? Dont think you guys have a store in Melbourne.

    • Yes, however only iPad is not available online.

      • Sweet. I cannot find Macbook Pro batteries, do you stock them? SInce I have been looking for a place to buy them cheaper then RRP for a while…

  • where is "Get a Panasonic FULL HD 54” 1080P Plasma (RRP $2199) for just $1298"?

    • See attachment - flyer

  • +5

    +1 for bargains
    -1 for abusive rep
    = revoked vote :D

  • -1

15 per store with no store in melbourne qualify as a deal?

    • read the rules dude…. This is NOT a valid reason for a negative vote.

  • Would've bought the Panasonic if it was the V20 series…

    • -1

See here for the v20. Basically, hovers around $1650 inclusive 5 yrs warranty, blu-ray player, and delivery (HN).
Have a copy of receipt too, to price match.

      http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1545272

Or, just print out their attached flyer, and shop around for a price beat. I'm pretty sure big retailers would be more than happy to do it, cause it's not that much of a bargain (considering the above price is from HN).

Plus, you probably will get a better customer service experience.

  • -5

WOW Sight & Sound do not do bargains

    • +3

BEVAN - get a clue please read the rules on negative voting - you are telling us NOTHING, its your opinion DOH!! Read the rules on NEGATIVE voting before wasting our time….

  • no iphone online? just ipod and mac?

  • -1

And DSE have the VIVO 47" for $699 with free delivery as well. The online shop says on backorder, but if you use the "check store stock", you can find out if there's any store near you that have them in stock.

    e.g.:
Sydney - George st & Neutral bay
Melbourne - Bourke St & Victoria Garden
Brisbane - Queen st & Elizabeth st
    etc.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/GE6164/vivo-119cm-47-quot-fu…

So, no real bargain. Just normal price. And you don't get limited to 1 per customer with DS.

    • -1

Sigh are you ignoring the 10% discount on apple products? Crap reason to neg really..

  • -1

In the future, I hope these guys treat the community properly. The VIVO's aren't really bargains. If the apple products are actually 10% less then it might make a difference if you live close enough to the stores. But overall, yeah…

    • +5

One person slams this guy for posting too many posts on different posts then they combine the posts and you say that the combined post doesn't offer value on every item!!!

The Apple 10% off deals are good, they are generally the best discount rate that any being offered at any time here on Ozbargain…

And they dont have stores everywhere - well that in itself isnt a valid reason for a negative vote as no store is everywhere!!!, and we EXPRESSLY cover that in the negative voting guidelines.

While their attitude may be a little suss, it could be in reaction to an over critical attack by the first replies to this post. They reported it to the mods and the mods took action, so attacking the poster wasnt really necessary.

Please reconsider your vote, I will be discussing with other mods as I think you have stepped over the line, but will get another opinion first

      • ozpete for mod! … oh wait ;)

      • Vote has been revoked. I was down voting because at the time there were three separate bargains posted and when someone had called them up on it, they did not apologize but went on the offensive. It was just a bad way to deal with customers.

The 10% on Apple products is good, but I think horribly worded. I would suggest in the future "Looking for an iPad, Mac, iMac, iPod, iPhone or Accessories? 10% off this weekend only!!" felt vague and you read the link and to me it is still vague. Perhaps I am slow.

Anyway, I will have a proper read of the neg-voting guidelines.

        • +1

K, after reading the guidelines I shouldn't have negged, should have commented.

        • +1

          windsurfer-sp

Thank you for reading the guidelines, it make's our job a lot easier. Too many think we are out to get negative posts. No so, only incorrectly posted ones.

Another great tool is the REPORT button, that gets the mods attention fast…

And I totally agree with your comments. Lets hope the Cubic gets some ideas from those, that will help everyone.

  • +1

I not getting this… any 1 else offering ipads @ 10% off… if so pls tell me? otherwise a + from me. I live 20 min away from a wow store and if I can save $100 on my spend.. then bring on more post from Cubic!

    • I am no where near a WOW store myself, but I think you are entitled to get the discount even though I cant get it myself…

  • Good discussions and arguments guys! I've always got shot down for borderline -ives, so by my experience most of the -ives here should not stand, why don't you just ask the REP to improve his offer, i'm in melbourne so I cant take adv. of this offer yet I think it's unfair to neg it, just because they dont have a a store here. by the way REP I need a battery for a 15" Macbookpro (2nd gen), whats your best price delivered to Melb.? :)

  • +4

Cannot believe people neg'ing a store that discounts apple, there should be more stores that have the guts!

  • Just got Myer to price match, & I can use Gift vouchers that been in my draw from xmas… going o/s next week, so a further 10% off through TRS = 32g wifi @ $615 rrp $759, saving $144 :}

    • cool

  • Can u price match @ BIGW and using Wollies gift card (another 5%)?

  • Noted above that the Albury store doesn't carry the ipad, does anyone know if they are available in the Shepparton store?

  • Was anyone able to purchase an ipad ? if so what model and how much thanks.
