  • I m in market searching to replace SATA hard disk in my dell latitude 5513 . Based on the google search I have found that Samsung Evo 840 is the most appropriate replacement . Since Evo 850 does not have much size difference from Evo 840 I am thinking to buy 850 . Now can anyone suggest how this crucial one compared to the EVO 850 one . I use my home laptop sparingly and don’t want to spend a lot .

    Thanks for all help.

      850 has a higher read/write (540/520 vs 530/500).
      850 has a longer warranty (5y vs 3y).
850 uses V-NAND instead of NAND which is guaranteed to last you longer (higher write count).

      Go the 850.

      • Thanks a lot !!

Synthetic benchmark - you won't notice a difference

        850 has a longer warranty (5y vs 3y)

        That's a bonus - plus for that

850 uses V-NAND instead of NAND which is guaranteed to last you longer (higher write count).

V-nand is just Samsung speak for 3D NAND
The Crucial also has 3D NAND.

The Crucial has a larger capacity.

        They are both good drives.

I have found Crucial support a lot better than Samsung.

You can't go wrong with both and I would just buy whatever is cheaper of the 2.

I think the Samsung doesn't have a 7 to 9mm adapter where the Crucial does if that's important to you.
