Samsung H711 27 Inch Curve 16:9 QHD Freesync Monitor - 2560x1440, $520 with Free Delivery @ Futu Online eBay

PICK20UP

Hi guys, I just bought a new Samsung monitor as I was shopping around on eBay trying to take advantage of the current 20% off EBay promotion. I stumbled across this model from futu_online which came down to $520.

The next cheapest from StatICE is currently retailing for $599 so I definitely think this is a good buy!

I’m sure this would apply to other models as well but if you’re in the market for a new monitor then hopefully this would help.

Thanks!

  • Good find, it would be good if you add the price into the post title as well though

Also worth mentioning that this is Freesync.

    • Thanks, done.

    Gamers consider:

    • It is a VA Panel, not TN or IPS. A half way between then, as in, better image quality than TN but not as good as IPS, potentially faster than IPS but not as fast at TN. Has better viewing angles and greater brightness than TN and the best Colour ratio of all three.
    • Unfortunately refresh rate is 60hz, or 72 with FreeSync. Which isn't that high good when many gaming panels support 144hz. However, it apparently can be overclocked, which reduces input lag from 16ms at 60hz to 10ms at 100hz.
    • Curved panels can reflect more background reflections, the screen may not reflect much, which is good, but typically curved screens is exposed to more background imagery, so it is more likely to pick up bright windows and reflect them.

    Graphic designers:
    - Curved screens make straight lines, well, not straight.

I want a 1400p panel, but I think I won't get this one. Looking at ASUS MG279Q and then overclock the panel.

    • Upon further research, if you are prepared to overclock this monitor to, and I've seen people getting 110hz, this is actually a really good monitor if you want FreeSync. If you won't overclock, 72hz with FreeSync or 60hz on normal operations really isn't that special.

So any AMD GPU owner wanting a gaming monitor, this is a really good option.

Also remember that V-Sync creates input lag, so G-Sync or FreeSync monitors can really improve your gaming experience with fast paced games. Compared to a 60hz V-Sync experience, a 100hz FreeSync can dramatically reduce input lag.

  • Budget QHD 75hz FreeSync gaming monitor, with VA Panel:

    AOC Q3279VWF8 32" for $359.20

Downside is that it has Ghosting issues, with FreeSync at 75hz, it is reduced.
