  • The Panasonic seems a good deal ??

  • Had to swap my 4k samsung after 6 months for an lg after a firmware update broke game mode and caused weird strobing and colour separation. It's been a year and samsung haven't patched the bug. This official support forum has hundreds of unhappy owners: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpaโ€ฆ

Admittedly a model from last year though.

55inch is too small, unless you sit 2m away

It's alright for a spare room, but not a main TV, agreed.

I still remember when we had a 20" CRT TV ๐Ÿ“บ sitting 3 - 4 meters away .. but yet today a 55" TV is too small ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Lol at all the down votes, enjoy your compromised screen size

  • Freakingly cheap

$1k more than then Kogan one..

    • Yep, not really much more for a quality tv over the Kogan.

    • reverse it

  • Is there a point of curved screens.
Wanting a 55inch for on the lounge wall and I'm thinking flat is better but this seems an ok price but curved screen.
Maybe wait for a better Sony 8500 deal (or is this a much better tv)
Do Samsung have a non curved equivalent?

    • No, they only make curved screens. You are actually supposed to buy 4 and strap them to your head and use them as 360 degree VR glasses. You have been training your neck muscles, right?

      • Funny.
I meant what is the flat equivalent of this model?

        • MU7000

        • @Izefyre:

          Thanks for that.
Same specs but flat screen I assume?

  • Last time Harvey Norman had the mu9000 for the same price. ie when they were st 1798. They may do same with this?

Having just bought a Samsung 55 with curved screen I wish id gone with the flat screen. No benefits that I can see but one major con - any background light scatters across the entire screen making it unwatchable
