    Don't bother. You'll get a faulty SIM.

Coles also have the $30 Optus sim pack for $10 atm.

$5 for $30 from Optus ebay

Donโ€™t bother. Optus are clearing out faulty SIM cards . Itโ€™s not worth the hassle of trying to activate

You may get get a faulty SIM, however it appears that was more likely ordering online from Optus.

    • I ordered online from optus site. All 3 sims ($5 for $30 sim) had 2019 expiry .
I activated sim swap for 1 of them yesterday. No issues at all , once i got through to talk to an actual person, lol .
I just kept pressing 7,8,9,0 (invalid options) until it got me to speak to operator.
Added $30 to my account, through sim swap.
      $30 credit for $5 ๐Ÿค—
$2 day unlimited calls, data, text. = 30 cents a day for unlimited everything (except MMS) ๐Ÿ˜†

      • I really do not understand which way you can have a sim swap of $30 credit into a unlimited data of $2 day?

        • Its quite simple really. A "sim-swap" is intented really for if you lose sim, if sim becomes damaged, if you change phones and require different sim size.
The optus call centre staff rarely ask "why are you swapping sims" , and if the do ask, you can just mention any of the reasons mentioned above.
Then they process the 'sim-swap' keeping same phone number, keeping same plan ($2 day im on) and the credit from previous sim also rolls over . ie, I had $26 credit left, then did 'sim-swap' with new sim which had $30 preloaded (which I aquired for $5) , then I did balance check , and sure enough , $56 ๐Ÿ˜† ($26+$30)

Optus really getting smashed by this sim issue..
    GAME OVER.

Cheaper deal elsewhere right now, but thank you OP. Dont know why ppl have negged deal here. Maybe just cos they are annoyed with optus .

    • +3

      Maybe because it's cheaper elsewhere?

I wasted almost six hours dealing with optus online chats trying to salvage my $10 for a faulty sim. I ended up losing the money, frustrated, and too annoyed to waste more time trying to chase them up. If you want a bargain and service then I recommend KOGAN. If you want pain and suffering then go with optus..

Great that you are sharing with the community and not negging you so much as negging Optus.
It's not worth the risk of getting a faulty sim I don't think. Save your $5 and use it on Kogan or get an amaysim/Vaya multi month deal.

I purchase 5 sims before. 2 of them are faulty. Optus won't solved the problem

Woolworth's are also doing half price Optus $10 sims, (maybe VIC only? Maybe other sim values?) dont know how long the offer is, only found out because i got a offer to get a $10 Optus SIM for free and it scanned at $5, then scanned my rewards card and got $5 off.
