P5OZZIE

Hi all,

Found this deal via this and thought it's pretty good. I have the phone myself and have had very little issues with it.

I am not sure if this model is compatible with Australia, but it seems fully unlocked and the bands work here. So….

Notice - Please Read Before Purchasing

This phone is soft unlocked using a modified firmware (H83020i_un) that removes the carrier lock, however this is only true so long as the current modified firmware stays installed.
This means future firmware upgrades, whether it is OTA or 3rd-Party, may cause the carrier lock to be active again. See Comments below for discussions.

Missing band 28. Heres the band support for the T-Mobile version of the phone.

The version you will really want is the "H860N" version which is the global Taiwanese variant with dual-SIMS slot and also the most coverage of all the LTE bands.

not sure if you included the P5OZZIE for the 5% discount
the postage of US $26.37 (approx. AU $33.98) kinda kills this deal anyways

Just buy the Moto G5 instead of LG G5. Much chesaper :P

      Snapdragon 430 vs 820.. quite a difference

      • +2

        I think 51ing meant the G5 Plus. Snapdragon 625.

        • Not much better, the 820 is worlds apart from the single channel ram snapdragons.

        • @Matslurpee:

Perhaps in speed but the Snapdragon 625’s are great for a balance between performance and battery efficiency.

    Warning:

    http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/10/07/deal-alert-unlocked-…

    Check this out, guys!

As per the reviews: "This seller (ByuSpry) is not selling genuine unlocked devices, but uses modified ROM (H83020i_un) to unlock T-Mobile locked device.
So, flashing any other ROM or even update (OTA or any other) will lock the phone to T-Mobile network."

This warning should be in the description.

Basically this phone has been hacked to be unlocked via firmware. As soon as you do an update it will be locked to T-Mobile and you can't unlock it.

with the high risk of boot loops for LG I would not risk an overseas purchase

  • +2

You should never buy a Grey stock LG phone, because of the Bootloop issues.
