  • Anyone know if the speaker terminals take banana plugs?

Photos I found on cnet kinda look like they might, but haven't found any mention of it in the quick-start manual or reviews…

    • +1

Yes, the speaker terminals will accept banana plugs. You'll need to remove a small plastic bung from each terminal before inserting the banana plugs

Thanks. I'll see if I can convince my partner ;)

(My old stereo amp I bought from you guys when you were still in Eastwood is still going strong so it's a bit of a tough sell!)

        • Glad to hear your stereo amp is still going strong :)

  • What’s the difference between the 483 and the 683?

    • +4

Over the RX-V483, the RX-V683 has:

      • 7.2 channels (vs 5.1)
      • Extra 10 Watts per channel
      • Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding
      • Zone 2 function (can connect a stereo pair of speakers in second room and play a different source in that room compared to main zone)
      • Phono input for turntable
      • 2 extra HDMI inputs (including one on front), for a total of 6 HDMI inputs
      • 1 extra optical digital input
      • Component video input
      • Analog video to HDMI up conversion
      • Higher quality on screen display

They may be a couple of things that I've missed, but the list above covers most differences between the two AV receivers

Please note the network and streaming features for both products is the same.
