Hi Folks,

We have 100 units of the recently discontinued Macbook Pro 15" w/ Touchbar to clear. We have both Silver and Space Gray available and are letting them out cheap for our OzBargain family! Key differances between this and the new model are:

  • These are 2.6Ghz CPU instead of the new 2.8Ghz
  • These have the Radeon Pro 450 2GB instead of the new Radeon Pro 555 2GB Graphics
  • These are $1214 Dollars cheaper than RRP on the new model.

To answer all of the hard questions you will be asking up front:
1) Yes, these are freight free for you specifically for this deal
2) Yes, we charge Credit Card & Paypal Surcharge 2.5% (we are in alignment with new laws we just pay higher rates due to the high risk of selling Apple online)
3) Yes, we accept EFT/Direct Debit; PLEASE NOTE: We will NOT hold your order until funds are cleared due to the high number of orders we receive through EFT that never get paid for.       8th gen is a huge upgrade to the previous.
      Intel claims the mobile versions have 40%~ improvements.

    I have to say I am not a Apple-person as everytime I got into Apple I just couldn't stay there…

    But I love the touchbar, its not laggy at all and is a great addition. I hope it becomes a standard amongst keyboards for PCs/Macs so applications can make great use of it…

        Oh that's interesting.. I didn't know the escape key was gone… At the Mac store it looked cool in that an app could have special function keys there.

    Also… with 100 laptops, it would be awesome if we all paid 1% more but at the end of the sale 1 random user gets a complete refund… Rebel Sport did this during a month where everyone on a random day got the full purchase-price back of the products purchased on that day.

          Have a bunch of these around the office. Never had freezing or red bar problems. If these were actually real common issues with the model then there'd be major recalls.

      Yeah many do, this one in particular as well. And the worst part is Apple refuses to fix them, or fixes them and doesn't fix the right thing, and keeps taking the computer for weeks at a time with no solve. They just wait until it's out of warranty and ask you to buy a new one. Then they end up on eBay "no warranty, reliable computer"

      any apple store. your closest one or authorized store will take care of it all for you.

      when my new 2015 model went to hell they ended up replacing all the internals and ssd took them 3 days to do just because they had to pull stock from a store on the other side of brisbane other wise it would have been a overnight job.

          We will try to maintain contact with you…might be worth following up with our team for a failover option in case we don't think it will get there in time. We only use registered courier so if your not home they will leave a "We missed you" card.

    Just FYI we have received double the amount of orders as we have + votes at this stage. Whilst i am happy to be receiving orders i heard that if we hit 100+ votes we get send an OzBargain Cake and Balloons…ok i know that isn't a thing but i think it should be.

    Quick update team!

    Space Grey is now sold out! Silver we have approx 25 units left.

    All orders the are Mastercard/Paypal will be processed today. Remaining orders will be processed when funds are received. We will try to fill all orders placed and not oversell but team will contact if there are any problems.

        Hi Chip,

        We don't hold them per order however we will also not allow stock to oversell more than we believe the unpaid rate will be. For example if we have 30 EFT orders we might allow 40 to go through so that we only have to cancel 10 orders if they are unpaid. If we didn't do it this way we would have 200 orders and have to cancel 100 of them as even with that comment i made half of our orders are EFT.

        Sorry if that was misconstrued - i don't want people who paid PP/CC to be upset for paying that method to secure stock. I assure you not all EFT orders will be filled but i am also not in the business of aggravating people by overselling far more than we have to.

    Damn, that's a good price. I've had my 13" MBP for a couple of weeks now and I'm really liking it, I would've liked the bigger model for the better graphics card but I couldn't justify the big difference in price at the time. Anyone who grabs one of these is lucky!

      Hi Blaze,

      We do get people place orders with EFT that don't pay so if you did place an EFT order you could very likely still receive stock. My suggestion is to pay for the goods as we process the EFT orders as soon as payment is received. If people pay via EFT from Peoples Bank of North Korea and it takes 5 days for the funds to clear your order will get processed first and theirs cancelled.

    If i had another couple of hundred i think we would still be sold out. My team have been getting hammered by calls and emails all afternoon asking if/when/why there is no more stock. Actually had someone yelling at one of my guys on the phone because we didn't have more stock.

    I am literally speaking with my Apple team now to see if there is anything else that i might be able to offer in another deal. If i get anything else i will make sure i post it in here also so ya'll know.

      I paid via bank transfer just before it sold out and it seems like mine was shipped today. EDIT: Actually it was processed. For some reason in the status timeline it says dispatched but I don't think it has yet
