  • i always wonder why Apple products doesn't have discount? If there were, it would only be 10%-15% max. Is it because retailers selling on a tight margin? or simply because they don't need discounts to attract ppl to buy their products? any useful insights?

Shame it's not nationwide - my local store isn't included…

  • can combine with the 2 bluray for 30?

    • last time they had this, it excluded the 2 bluray for $20

      • +1

Actually last time some stores put the 20% off the 2 for 20 and some didn't

    • sure can.

  • wonder if it will be online as well ?

    • in the stores specified on the link only.

Great find. Maybe I should finally get Starcraft 2.
We should have a thread of suggestions of things to buy :D

    • You should get starcraft2 if its just for the custome team co-op VS ai maps alone! there's so many custom maps that make it awesome and its the only reason i play starcraft for the normal game was meh, the custom maps are AWESOME fun for hours on end! And they are all on battlenet servers just waiting for you to join!

I'd be checking the prices on gear you want right now, and writing them down! Last time I went to one of their 15% off weekend TV sales, the ticketed price on the $1591 set I was looking at on Friday had magically jumped by $300 or 19% to $1891 for the Saturday/Sunday sale!

Even though after the 15% "discount" the new price was only $16 or something more; and when caught out they immediately reduced that and gave a significant discount on a Wii for me; it was amusing to see how creative pricing mitigates any perceived "loss" they might claim! Caveat emptor! :p

That said, if by chance they're fair dinkum about this then there could be some savings to be had; I already know the price of the speakers I want, so if they take a real 20% off those I'm in! :)

Listen to this man, when the Logitech 20% off sale came on, they upped hte price of the Logitech G27 from $399 to $499!

      • you do know thats against the law right?

        • only in theory, there are many ways around it

        • +1

yes but if you can prove it was cheaper before the sale you can make a complain to the ACCC/Fair trading

    • +1

Yep same thing happened to me on a TV just a few months ago!
Fortunately for me I snapped a photo of the price on my phone 2 days before the sale when I was browsing.
The price during the sale had magically increased by $200. SOOO Dodgy!

nice time to get black ops, if the 20% applies to it

Why was this posted so late, i see the actual sale was yesterday between 6-10pm?

    • +3

I see you need new glasses

      • +1

        I almost thought like that.

  • My bad, thanks for the clarification.

Do we need to print anything, or just rock up on Wed after 6pm?

    • just rock up

  • Wonder if you are able to order a laptop if they don't have any in stock :
    EG SONY VAIO - VPCZ138GGXQ 13" CARBON
    http://www.jbcommercial.com.au/secure/?cata_id=4397097

    • nope

    • It's not a laptop, but I once ordered a DVD during one of these sales and got the discount. You just have to pay for it in full.

  • -4

The Aussie now buys you $1.05US This is the number 1 reason for this sale and many more to come! JBhifi is doing a good thing giving us back the savings!

    • +3

you mean its $1.005 (big difference!)

  • Double damn-I've got an exam the next day AND my local store isn't included :(

  • ;wonder what they will do the lg 42ld460 for now? its already on special for $997….hmm

    • Most likely they'll knock another 15% off that $997. That was what happened to me the other time I bought the lg42pj350.

      • if so - DING! i'm there! but i'm not going to hold my breath….

  • Damn. consoles not included.

  • how much will fable 3 be with 20% off? I got $30 gift voucher from last christmas gotta spend it lol.

  • Does the friends and family have any significant meaning, as I am neither friends or family of any JB staff

    • +1

      No just rock up

  • -2

wheres the 20% off dvds i dont see it

    • +2

Right in the middle of the image it says "20% off CDs, DVDs & Games". Can't miss it.

    • -1

Last time it also applied to the Blurays :)

    • +5

Last time they refused to give me the 20% discount off 'Call of Duty 4'. I argued that it was a DVD, and that JB Hi-Fi offering '20% off all DVDs' referred only to the format of the media, not the content. They gave me my 20% off :-D

  • Hmm this would be a great with the new COD: Black Ops. Will be the cheapest around with the 20% discount. So do we need to print anything for this deal or just show up on the night and buy buy buy

    • probably not any cheaper than Kmart's $79 deal.

      • JB will be at $79 release price, BEFORE the 20% off.

        • Someone said The price will go up 2moro to cater for this and thus we won't be getting it any cheaper than $79
          can anyone confirm?

How about game pre-order? Thinking to get GT5 using this offer.

  • +1

30% off audio. My pulsar: doof doof doof.!

    Lookin forward to this.

  • Man even at the 20% off discounted price, JBHifi is still a lousy place to buy PC games. @_@

  • you guys over east make sure you post what bargains you get on Wed, gives us over in Perth a heads up what to get when sale starts 3hours later in WA ;)

  • dead rising 2 is selling preowned for $49 so with 20% off that would be quite the bargain! Might grab a copy myself.

  • Anyone know what time they close? Only says 'from 6pm'
    Edit: found it

  • Does the 20% off for speakers and receivers include HT systems/packages or only speakers and receivers by themselves?

  • Picked up a LG 50" Plasma on Sat from the Maquarie Centre Store. They were more than happy to honour the 15% discount before Wed and saved me the trip on Wednesday. Got my set for 1250 delivered with 2 years extended warranty.

    • +1

yeah probably because you didnt haggle.. if you ask for 15% off the ticketed price of course they will honour it. because haggling will get you atleast if not more than that.

      • I actually got 24% of the ticketed price. The point I was trying to make was that you don't have to wait till Wednesday. If you mention that you can get it cheaper on Wednesday, they will beat that price by more than 15% and saves you a trip. Best deal for my TV wit haggling was 1100 at most stores not including warranty and delivery. I got it from JBHI for 1000$ with a list price of 1300.

  • is it 15% off laptops too or just desktops?

  • wrong topic…oops…

  • So anyone can walk in and get the discount? or do you have print this deal or be family and friend?

I don't know how this works. so yeah…

    • I think since it's just specific stores only you just go in, since it's after their normal hours anyway

  • it is anyone. dont know whether ill bother though, its 20 mins away. my local isnt doing it, never does. maybe homemaker supacenta cant open at that time..

  • does anyone know if their online price is the same as in store price ?
    I'm after a car stereo that's $249 online

    • Could always ring the store and check, I got my PS3 Black Ops for $63.20 so I'm happy :)

      • Yeah, can't go wrong with $63.20 for Black Ops (mine was for xbox), sealed too.

  • Scored a Navman gps. They gave me 10% off on top of discounted item. So I guess this goes for all items previous discounted already! Cheers for the heads up so I got in early, skipped the crowd.

  • Thanks for the tip champ, i just picked up a brand new Compaq notebook for $423 -SCORE!
