  • I'm tempted….

The only thing putting me off is the 5+1 power design (not much room for any type of O/C) and some of the reviews say the fans get a bit noisy under load.

Anyone used one of these zotac cards before?

Maybe I just need some convincing :)

    • yea i guess you cant avoid the lack of being able to OC and fan noise with such a small size.

i am also contemplating buying it for my eGPU but there will be a bottleneck and i cant make use of the full potential of the 1080.

I own the full-sized version of this card.
You shouldn't really be worried about the power design imo, as Pascal is so efficient and the upper ceiling on the architecture seems to be around 2 - 2.1 GHz anyway.
However, it is true this mini card seems to not go as far as the full size cards - but then again this is for a very niche target audience where they are targeting people with small cases and want the 1080 best performance.
I think it comes down to whether you're putting this in a mid-tower or mini-cases.

If former, I'd say get a full size because Pascal is sensitive to temperature (GamersNexus did an article on how Pascal's temp greatly affects core clock) unless you can put up with the fan noise.
If the latter, then hey this is about the only really small 1080 you can get.

      Hope it helped :)

      • Thanks DJIinspire, I'd be mad not to buy this but i'm thinking i'll pass.

Yep noise and temps are my concern, have an ASUS GTX 970 Strix which I don't hear at all and I'm kinda liking that but it only runs 1440P smoothly with some settings turned down and I want to goto 144hz too. I'm going to hang out for a Full Size 1080 at the right price (come on Black Friday sales :)

  • Why get this over the 1080 for $636? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336588

Which should include destiny 2 as well http://www.inno3d.com/redemption_index.php
