  • ordered something from gearbest 3/10 shipped out on 18/20 and tracking doesnt work.

    • could you pls send me your order nubmer for checking?

      • +1

already sorted it about 5 emails.

ordered off banggood last night and they sent the item this morning.

i know gearbest is banned from being recommended on some subreddits tho so i've learnt my lesson.

  • I think this should be more around the $200 or less mark right?

    • Was gonna bite, but you're right. Was $200 not long ago for the 4/64

  • Why do I get "The Code cannot be used for Orders to Australia." when I try to apply the coupon code? I'm logged into my account.

    • The code is also for Australia

      • I tried changing the shipping destination to a different country, different currency and even VPN'd to a different location to change my IP address.
Still get the same "The Code cannot be used for Orders to Australia" message when I apply the code. Then the price goes up.
        They don't want my business.

          Try this one AUGB10204

        • if you found buying a challenge, you might find support in australia even harder if it goes faulty.

these phones were appealing when there weren’t many 1080p phone on the australian market under $600, now there several for under $400 eg the motos, nokia, LG.

guess it depends how strapped you budget is.

loving my lg v20 at $360 from last ebay sale, spare phone is moto g4 that was under $300.

        • @gearbest: Can this code be used on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 5.5 inch 4G Phablet - BLACK too?

          https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_701790.html?wid=4

        • @garage sale: good price for V20, i compromised with Q6 for $340.00, good phone so far…

    • Try this one AUGB10204

  • Is this the one you can put lineage os onto ?

    • I did not understand you

    Shopmonk is cheaper.

    Black Redmi note 4x 4GB/64GB is $211AUD.
Pink and gold versions are a few bucks cheaper.

    • I have brought from there and received a x20 helio instead 625 snapdragon (even site description saying it was a snapdragon). They offered me a $20 as apologies

      • +1

Same here. Shopmonk 4/64 models are MDTK only. I returned mine.

      • my son has the mediatek 64gb version and they work fine, we flashed with official global rom and were good to go.

the snapdragon versions were first released for the indian market , so processor type might be market based.

only an issue if you like to tinker and reflash yourself with custom roms, most users just buy, put in a sim and use.

and as always root the phone and you void warranty which many people don’t do.

and as always root the phone and you void warranty which many people don’t do.

Not really relevant for grey import Chinadroid like this where warranty is such a hassle as it is.

        • @illumination:

It's the risk you take when buying something cheaper from china I guess.
I've never had any issues thank god, but I imagine if you did it would take 3+ months to sort it out. I probably wouldn't bother either.

      • They already updated the description. I thought x20 helio is faster.

      • How does one check whether they have a Helio or Snapdragon processor?

I've actually checked before and recall mine said MSM8953, which appears to be the Qualcomm codename for Snapdragon 625 but I'll leave this question here because:

        • I can't remember how I checked and I can't find it from a google search
        • For other people to know how to check
  • Guys, maybe a silly question but would this be an upgrade for my iPhone 6plus 64gb?

    • Wouldn't call it an upgrade but it will give you different experience (in a good way) if you have not used Android before.

      • i love iphones , used to won one but find them a bit expensive for what i do, so switched to android and usually refresh with last years model flagship android phones which take a good price drop as new models are released. just got an LG V20 for $360 ….. same hardware in apple would be $600.

if you just use the iphone and not a mac or ipad the switch to android will save you money which it has me over time and i have an ipad for apps ….. not a big fan of using phone size screen to enjoy content, but phone fits into pocket tablet doesn’t.

if you also have a mac or ipad, the apple ecosystem does integrate nicely and backup devices to time capsule or the mac local drive, sync content locally without needing cloud or internet, etc.

android is basically your phone and google internet cloud and windows explorer or finder on your mac to copy selected content to or from a desktop, no where near the integration of mobile device and desktop device compared to apple.

    • thanks, I'll probably just upgrade to a 7plus then. getting a bit sick of apple but hey.

  • Does this have an OTA upgrade to Nougat?

  • +1

I paid $140 aud via shopmonk for this phone not so long ago, granted not 64gb though.

  • 1018ARGB4X is not working.
