I feel like I want this, yet at the same time it seems extremely unnecessary.

It is. If you're too lazy to check on your batteries every hour or so then you deserve to have them overcharge and explode.

Not to mention it's another unnecessary app to have on your phone that will probably stop working because the devs didn't bother updating it.

      • If you're too lazy to check on your batteries every hour or so then you deserve to have them overcharge and explode.

That part I disagree with. I have two young children who have plenty of battery operated toys, so I'm probably recharging batteries 2-3 times a week. The idea of constantly monitoring them to make sure they're not overcharged is a bit ridiculous. However, you don't need to spend $100 to get a charger that prevents overcharging…

I'd likely have it connected to PC anyway.

yeah who own's a charger that doesn't drop to trickle charging when it's done?

      • Forgetfulness and Laziness are two different things.

        • And yet they're intertwined so much.

Got one of these last year for similar price. Don't use the bluetooth, but wanted a multi-chemistry charger to handle pretty much everything with full control, and that didn't limit current to 500ma (or less) when using 4 slots. Considering my Maha C9000 that only handles NiMH/CD AA and AAA wasn't much less, I figured the price was reasonable for what it is.

If you just want a plug and play charger, this is overkill though. You can pick up a LiitoKala Lii-500 for under $20 that can handle NiMH/CD/LiIo, up to 1A each for 4 slots, has testing modes and can even use as a powerbank. (The Nitecore seems to be everyones go to, but I don't like the current limit when using 4 slots )

I got their LIPO charger for my race quads. Great quality, but the BT is a novelty. Much better getting 4 x Nightcore's for the same price

    • agreed, this seems way overpriced just for the bluetooth gimmick

  • It's not so much about charging NiMH but NiZN since there are very few chargers that will charge that chemistry I think they are way over priced for what they are.

  • Bluetooth is the new green or free range.

    • I can't use it, it must be gluten free.
