    anyone used Inno3D before?

    • Yeah, ive owned a GTX 670 from them
      Solid Cooler, no complaints.
      Looks like a good deal!

    • Great brand, I have a GTX 1070 Inno3d. Silent too. Only issue is resale value is a bit lower than Asus/Gigabyte/EVGA/MSI if that's a thing you worry about in the future.

    • +1

When I used to live overseas, Inno3D was usually one of the most competitively priced brands. I think I had maybe 3 or 4 of them over the years. Never skipped a beat, except for one that had a fan fail after 3 years but it was also time to upgrade by then.

FYI though, the price difference I'm talking about is only in the range of $10.

X2? Damn, had me thinking the deal was for 2 cards.

how long will it take to pay for itself mining bitcoin?

    • +2

      367.974894

    • +4

Mining just bitcoin specifically? You'll use more money in power than what you get in bitcoin - so the answer is never.

    • +2

Not much point in mining bit coin these days but there are other coins to mine that are still profitable.
This gives the average profit to be about $85 per month so just over 10 months to pay itself off. Personally I have been mining with a smaller card and made ~ $40USD in 2 months on and off. Power bill went up $30 so not much use to me but I use it to buy games as I can hide a slightly higher power bill easier than my steam addiction.

      • +1

Does anyone have their mining rig hooked up to a solar+battery type of setup? That would be the way to go.

        • You'd need a few kW worth of panels and kWh worth of battery storage, wouldn't get much change out of $10k I don't reckon

      • Bear in mind you should never base profitability on the Nicehash calculator. It doesn't take into account how difficulty changes, ergo whatever ROI value it spits out is useless.

    • 1080Ti are not an efficient choice for mining, they dont hash as well relative to Price of card / Power to run / output of currency … as other cards do.
In Summary, buy something else so other people can buy this card to actually use it for gaming.

      • +2

Not really. 1080ti handles Equihash very well (Zcash). You might be thinking of the 1080 (not 1080ti), which is a terrible card for mining.

    • anywhere between 1 to 6,000,000 divided by 6.33334
      don't forget cash rewards

  • -1

is this after 20% coupon or before?

if its before, definitely the cheapest 1080ti outhere

    • Price is after. $899 for a 1080Ti is insanely good, PCByte also give tax invoices so you can get the GST back if you're leaving the country within the next 60 days.

    • After

  • Worth mentioning the 1070Ti release is imminent, not sure how much slower it is than the 1080Ti but if it's not much and is much cheaper, it is a worthy consideration.

    • By speculated core count & frequency, between 1070 and 1080.

    • +1

It is quite a bit slower than the 1080ti and it's more in the realm of the performance of a GTX 1080 but with slower GDDR5 memory so the 1070ti isn't really designed to compete with the 1080ti.

I'm after a founders edition 1080ti as I need the blower style cooler for my mini-ITX case - can anyone direct me to one for the $850 mark?

      • +1

Same deal for me… I've only found this at the cheapest for $975 after discount.

        • Damn, don't understand why the founder's edition cards are MIA with most sellers. I jumped on to the $500GBP ($810 shipped) EVGA 1080TI Founder's edition cards from Amazon back in July and I'm still waiting for it to be dispatched! I'm guessing crytominers are to blame for the shortage? I'm starting to think that the Amazon order will never be dispatched and so have started to look at other options but have yet to find a cheaper price so reluctant to cancel the order. First world problems I guess.

    • get the hybrid or AORUS Xtreme WATERFORCE . blower are way to hot

  • At 266length seems it should fit most micro atx cases. Anyone had experience with this particular inno card?

    • That depends on the case …

      • +11

It's a case by case basis.

        • Glad you mention that case in this case.

Summer is coming and this is a 250w card. Do yourself a favour and pay $75 extra for the strix. It will have much better resale value as well.

    • +3

What difference does the model make if they are both 250W?
      Hint. There is no difference.

Also even if it has a better resale value it wont be by $75.

Basically as long as you dont get the reference board you can get whichever board is cheapest and they will perform very nearly exactly the same (keep in mind size in your case and display connections of course). Unless you are going for maximal overclock

      • The point about 250W power wasn't about the difference between 1080ti's, I thought that was pretty obvious. What I meant is that this cooler will be fine for a 1070 because of lower power consumption but if you're buying a 1080ti go with a better cooler.

You're welcome to go with a low end cooler like that with lower clocks and probably a good bit louder as well. Add to that the resale value and I wouldn't hesitate recommending the strix for 8% more.

        • Not trying to be ass, but how you wrote it does not imply that at all, it implies exactly what i thought. I do somewhat agree with your now explained point though.

  • +1

And I was planning to build the whole gaming PC for less than $899.. Jeeeezz…

    • go for ryzen 3 or intel i3 for cpu, i just build a new computer, cost me around 1,2k, if you swap out the cpu and memory, it can save you around 400, and maybe less for the gpu

      • +1

Cool thanks.. I may go with Ryzen 3 1300X

  • +1

No dimensions posted anywhere on the page that I can see.

Anyone know if this will fit in a Fractal - Node 202?

  • can anyone confirm if this comes with a copy of Destiny 2?

  • +1

Anyone know if the SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB is good? Definitely seems like a good price.

    • +2

It's not the best SSD out there, but if you're choosing between an HDD and this, go with this. It's multitudes of times faster.

If I was building a new system I wouldn't hesitate to get the Sandisk Plus to put in.

      • +2

Most people would not even notice the difference in day to day computing.

Enthusiasts, different story as they'd love to bench their drives and see the differences.

        • +1

Yup - that's what I was trying to say, thanks for cutting through the mess and figuring out what I was trying to say!

    • +1

Great SSD. Have two of the 240G drives, one in a laptop and another a desktop and they fly (as expected). Been installed for well over a year over 2 years now. Won't notice much difference between a high-end SATA based SSD like the 850 Evo and this in everyday usage.

    • Thanks for your replies guys :) It looks like this drive would be alright, I was just seeing that a couple of reviews said it was a low performing SSD drive compaired to similar priced SSDs, something to do with DRAM I think.

I also saw this Kingston UV400 drive on PCVCasegear for only $20 more (Shipping cost not a factor as I have to get stuff from them anyway):

      https://www.pccasegear.com/products/35619/kingston-ssdnow-uv…

I think it is supposed to be better than the Sandisk Plus, but maybe I wouldnt even notice if Im just running games and media?

      • +1

You definitely won't notice for games and media.

        • Thanks Bunnybash, I ended up getting a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for $119 delivered. Figured at the very least it was worth the extra $20 for the 5 year warranty on the Samsungs.

        • +1

@wonderboy4: Yeah the Samsung 850 EVO are a fantastic drive too! Very reliable.

        • @bunnybash: Cheers bunnybash :) I have had an 840 in my main PC for several years and I always see them refered to as very good units.

This one is for an HTPC that really needs a boost to general operations of Windows 10 and other stuff. But Im thinking I will try to work out how to clone the 840 onto the new 850 for use in the main PC and use the 840 for the HTPC.

Hopefully I can manage without a hicup, just hoping I can also somehow copy the current windows 10 install on the HTPC's HDD drive onto the old 840 SSD without having to do a whole new install? Something I would dread right now tbh!

        • +1

@wonderboy4: There are a number of great software options for drive cloning, they usually require booting to a USB drive and running some kind of linux environment to be truly effective. It's worked for me historically though.

        • @bunnybash: Thanks Bunnybash, I think I'll ask some forums about cloning software.

  • For anyone wondering or anyone into custom watercooling, according to EKWB this card uses the Nvidia FE design PCB.
