A cursory search on google suggests this one has Freesync whereas the BenQ doesn't.

      Competitive gaming.

And why would size have any relation to needing particular Hz?

    • +1

I agree, 240Hz is unnecessary unless you're a professional gamer. Going from 60 to 144 is a big difference, going from 144 to 240… not so much. I'd spend the money on more pixels personally.

      • 144 to 240 hz is big difference.

You dont notice it as much going from 144 > 240 but once you drop back downt o 144hz from 240… its very noticeble lol. i cant even look at 60hz monitors now…

What does the resolution of the monitor have to do with the refresh rate you want?

If anything you want a high refresh rate on a lower resolution monitor so you can actually hit (closer to) those framerates on a native resolution.

240 is overkill, but unlike resolution, buying more than you need doesn't hurt your overall experience.

I agree 2K 27" is the way to go, but this is still cheaper.

  • With the price of this monitor, I would expect 2x HDMI ports.

    • +3

It has HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4.

      • Well OP should've put that in the description. thanks a lot for that.

  • I have a Vega 64 and 100 Hz freesync WQHD monitor. Noticed the AMD has some issues at higher frequencies.
I am getting some small 1cm thin black lines popping in and out. Not too bad at 60 Hz, but not usable at 100 Hz.
AMD drivers are a bit behind IMO.

Which monitor is that? It could be a monitor problem, once you overclock from 60hz. Try setting a custom res of 90hz and see if the lines still pop up.

      • In windows display setting only 60Hz and 100Hz come up.
I tried setting the custom resolution in AMD software to anything above 60Hz but AMD won’t allow it. Say monitor isn’t supported.
Windows also complained that there is a link error and the resolution is not supported.
        I got a 34” Korea monitor. Raeantech 34CQ100

I have a QNIX QX2710 that was giving me problems with my AMD card as well when I tried going past 60hz, try downloading this file " atikmdag-patcher-1.4.5.zip " from here https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Cloc…

This allowed me to overclock my monitor to whatever Hz I wanted.

        • @hoftos: You're the type of helpful fella I love to see on Oz Bargain.

  • Wish a gsync version was on sale, damn you proprietary standards!
