Any deals on 16gb micro sd?

    EDIT: changed to micro sd

    • Yeah a real good 16gb deal would be great

  • nice deal

  • speed? will it be ok for my desire?

    • Yea I got one from umart (21$ or something). No problems on my Nexus One

  • Great price, reputable seller, Australian company meaning (hopefully) quick shipping and supporting aussie businesses :)

  • 8gb for $16? I still remember back in 2003 when I paid $150 for a 512mb xD card..I really needed the size but god damn..

I won't neg but a quick search on eBay shows similar prices for 8Gb micro SDHC, there was even one with a Class 6 card for slightly cheaper (after allowing for postage). Can someone let me know why is this deal in particular a bargain?

I can only think of local seller so hopefully faster shipping

    • Locally registered business with a shopfront, means you are covered under TPA for any problems.

    • Often a genuine Sandisk Class 2 card will trump the performance of other class 6 brands. As long as this is a genuine Sandisk card you can feel safe with this purchase. Also a lot of sellers operating out of China and Hong Kong are 90% likely to be selling counterfeit Sandisk products so be weary on which sellers you purchase from on eBay.

    • And I got a 32Gb card for 15$. What a DUD. Still an open case in PayPal.
Was curious to see if PayPal would pay me back, with their (in)famous buyer protection scheme.
So a shop with reputation is worth the money (and trouble)

  • Speed?

    • pretty sure all micro SDs are class 2. Someone can correct me if im wrong though

      • The Kingston micro SD card in my Nexus One that I got from MSY is a class 4.

Also http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Micro-SDHC shows that there's a pretty good range of classes in micro SDHC these days - even class 10.

I'm pretty sure this Sandisk is a class 2 though. Sandisk name their upper classes differently (eg. Ultra and Extreme.) However, I think tests show that their class 2s perform on par with Kingston class 4s and 6s.

        • Hmm if they don't bother printing the speed on it and if the Rep doesn't respond to the questions about speed, you could go with the assumption this'll be the lowest rated out there.

      • ShoppingSquare sold one awhile back which was a 16GB Class 4 Kingston MicroSD
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31864

To my knowledge, all Sandisk MicroSD's are Class 2.

      • Not true. I have a SanDisk class 4 microSDHC card in front of me. It comes with the Huawei cheap Android phone.

Also bought some Kingston ones (also class 4) from MSY before.

    Is it a fake??
    spotting counterfeit cards on ebay:
    http://fakeflashnews.wordpress.com/2009/12/15/how-counterfei…

same seller has split "san disk" in auction of the same card.
"Should you see the name for a brand being broken up with spaces or any other characters, you likely discovered a fake flash memory seller on eBay. "

I've bought SDHC cards from Shopping Square/Apus Auctions before (on the rare occasions that their delivered price is cheaper than buying anywhere else) and they're real :)

    • Agree

50% of memory cards/USB sticks and 90% of Windows software on EBAY is fake

I have bought from APUS before and they are OK - not in retail packaging but appear genuine

I have bought a lot of cards off this guy and I can vouch they are genuine (and typically cheaper than APUS)

I can't speak for everyone so make your own decisions OZ'bargainers but personally I will NEVER buy another card from Apus/Shopping Square, the reason is as per my previous post…..
I had learned my lessons, better to pay a bit more and get the real deal!

Can't really say if this is a REAL DEAL or not.

Not sure why you made a negative as this wasn't the item you brought. The Kingston one i brought from that post came in retail packaging and is 100% real.

From the looks of your post though, there is no point getting upset, from my experience it never solves a thing when you just get pissed off.

Sorta like the story with the $3000 Sony laptop I'm using at the moment, Brought it, and it broke down, they fixed it but had a similar issue, 3 more repairs later, I calmly spoke with them and discussed possible "permanent" fixes. Sure it took about 1month of negotiations…. (only really about 1 hour of my time, as i just gave them a call every so often to speak with them).

But in the end my laptop was replaced with the newest model which costed about $1000 more than what i paid for my old one. Free upgrade, was totally happy from the outcome.

Now if i simply got pissed off after the first few phone calls, i would have never gotten to that result.

        • Shopaholics vote is valid under our guidelines, but if they keep negging Shopping Square posts for this one bad deal, then

We'll change the guidelines to cover repeat negging of a store by one member, constantly. eg say more than twice, but we would prefer commonsense prevails and not have to do this.

In this case Shopaholic is referencing the complaint which is what we would like on all negative votes. So people can read their complaint and the responses, and make their own judgement.

Personally I can see both sides from the previous discussions and I'll leave it at that….

      • I have purchased from their ebay store twice in the past, and both cards were perfectly legit.

  • D'oh. I just bought one on ebay from China for $13 with free shipping BUT they add $3 for insurance. This deal is better cos it includes GST which I can get back. Missed it by 2 days.

    • You poor thing .. you really missed the boat big time … missed out on a massive $1.65 of GST ;)

      • +3

you save a dollar here and there… and then you can go to the $2 dollar shop

    • How much you want to bet the one that arrives is a fake? I've had a fake at a seemingly reasonable price from an Australian eBay seller :( Make sure you check it at the sandisk site as soon as it arrives.

  • Ordered. Bewdy, thanks. I've used Shoppingsquare before with no problems. PS: Got it for a blackberry - small amount of internet research tells me class 2 is good enough, faster cards give you better transfer speeds and smoother video playback, and possibly faster indexing.

  • Damn, that's cheap. I don't need one though, but for that price, I may have to buy one.

  • dont worry

  • Is the $20 voucher still working?

  • Beware, it's NOT in retail package and it's not sealed.

  • received in standard post. no retail packaging.
