Brother Wireless Mono Laser MFC-L2703DW $160 @ Officeworks

200

Hi guys just noticed that the brother MFC-L2703DW is on clearance at Officeworks for $160 i think the old price was $229 from memory, i've seen the L2700DW which is essentially the same printer a little bit cheaper from time to time through Ebay but if you needed a printer at the moment this doesn't seem like a bad option. I don't believe you can order it online but most stores at lest in the Sydney area have them in stock.

I've had a MFC-L2703DW since June 2016 and have been very happy with it. Toner is cheap, it prints double sided, and it scans well. I paid $100 delivered for a refurbished model from Warehouse 1.

Gotta agree with DrDuck. I've had the same model since sept 2015 and it's still going strong. Wifi printing/scanning is also a bonus. You can get cheap refills (something like $10/toner) on ebay.

      I bought 2 :D

I've bought a bunch of these for our remote workers.
    Cheap,reliable, dirty cheap consumables.

    Might get one myself.
    EDIT:
Plenty of stock in WA - I just ordered one

  • Wish it was colour.

Yeah, but have you seen how expensive colour toner is? Cheaper to get this and then colour print at Officeworks when you need to do it

      • +1

True, but my nearest office works is 20 kms away.

  • Looking at scanning old photos in the future…would this be a good option or a better scanner?

    • Scan quality is unimpressive on my L2740DW, which I believe is basically this model with a touchscreen. Compared to previous multifuctions I've owned, there's a distinct softness to the scans even with high DPI and lossless file formats.

    • I definitely recommend a dedicated scanner for photos if quality & speed is important.

  • Looks good whats the average print capacity of toner? 500-1000 pages?
    and cost of refill toner?

Approximately $10 per high-yield cartridge when bought in a 3-pack off ebay. Each cartridge will give you about 2600 pages.

      • thanks.

      • Any seller you recommend, sound too good to be true!!

  • Sweet! Someone at work was just asking me to recommend a good-quality mono laser last week. I'll point her to this one. Thanks OP!

  • The older model has been a brilliant printer at home for 2-10 prints a week. jinx

  • My mfc-8860DN is still going strong after about 10 years, however the scan to pc funcion no longer works across the network since windows 7 or 8. Although the old one is great and scans duplex too. At this price it's tempting!

  • Went to Officeworks Kogarah to pick one up and only display left. Pretty much a new one but without the Toner / box and fax cable.
Made offer of $100 + New toner. Accepted
