  • Do you need visa if just a short stopover before going to Maldives?

  • +3

Had 12 flights this year with China Southern, both International and Domestic. Great airline for the price. Food/drinks are average (no spirits), service can be average if you're at a small domestic airport (Melbourne, Shanghai, Seoul and Guanzhou were fine, small city was hard to communicate). Baggage allowance is amazing (2x 23kg)!

For people wanting Frequent Flyer points. Status match with Delta if you can and credit flights to DL (or purchase something such as this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272868059542). Many of these cheap fares don't earn points/credits/etc with CZ FF and other FF programs, but DL seems to credit even on the cheapest flights. DL also have low redeem rates for US domestic, and you can also redeem for Virgin Australia flights (though the rate is better for Delta flights).

Quite a fair comment! And note that with AU passport you can have up to 72-hour stopover for a short trip without applying for a visa.

    • Don't Delta only status match US airlines?
They certainly do not status match Velocity as Virgin is a partner.

      • That might be the case, they definitely don't match VA.
