Its 2017 so im offended by the blonde joke as being racist towards rangas, muffin tops and bald badgers

Have a + for the deal

    +1 for the joke then.

    And that’s a +1 from me.

For the joke. Not the tools.

  • IS this tool set any good for the price? I'm not talking professional quality for everyday use , but enough to keep the house in good working condition and for some minor projects. Was hoping its above average in quality. Anybody knows ?

From what I've been told it is rubbish quality. However, I've had a 'rubbish' quality set in my car for the past few years and it has definitely come in handy! I've only had to use it handful of times but they've been a life saver when I have needed them.

  • @Tuhan - Buy an old BMW instead. They had fantastic toolkits in their bootlids with Heyco (European Snap-On) tools in them. Unfortunately many owners liked them so much they used them all around the house on things not connected with the car and then of course they never went back where they belong. As with all things BMW, very, very expensive for the next owner to replace.

I just went to Repco to check this out and can confirm its quality is very questionable. I was drawn by the cantilevering tray toolbox, but this is by far the cheapest and nastiest piece of the whole kit. I wouldn't expect this to last very long at all. No clasps or locking mechanism on it at all. Metal constuction is all single skin with no reinforcing ribs anywhere, so it's very flimsy and wobbly. The tray compartment inserts are very hard brittle plastic, not pelican case foam, that will crack in no time. There is no insert at all in the very bottom compartment. The tools for this area are packaged loose inside a taped closed cardboard box. Allen keys are very short, ring spanners look OK and are double hex, screwdrivers are surprisingly nice with ergonomic soft feel grips and hardened tips. Multigrips are rubbish.

In short, the suggestion this kit is normally priced at $216 for a 55% off deal is an absolute piss-take. The $89 price is about what it's worth. Only for those with no tools looking for a starter kit. People experienced with tools and how to use them should look elsewhere.

    • Hahahaha - I'd never buy a BMW…

Yeah the quality was always going to be terrible. I have a proper set that I keep at home for your DIY jobs. However, my back up rubbish set that I keep in my car has been ideal for minor situations or when people have needed something out and about…

Totally agree regarding RRP - that is just a ripoff! I'd still be questioning buying it at $89.
