  • Thanks OP.
Can you please provide any specific dates for Sydney between March-Apr?
Also, is there any deal for Sydney to Bergen? (is Bergen a better starting point for self-driving tours?)

    Thanks in advance.

    • depends where you're going. Fly to Oslo, Take the train over (that way you can look). But do you really want to be driving over there in winter?

      • Only pick Mar/Apr as northern light is still available, also the relatively low precipitation. I do know it is still a bit cold at that time. : )

Bergen is amazing for tourists, but you can't really go to Norway without visiting Oslo, so you might as well get a flight there.

    • yeah Oslo is wonderful, but IMHO Norway is best in late spring/summer. May/June is my fav time.

    • I think most of attractions are in south-west(e.g. fjords) and north-west (lofoten)?

      • Sognefjorden is the most famous location. You can drive there from Bergen in a day. Lofoten is quite a bit more remote, so it's harder to get there. There's a cruise you can take that takes you up the whole length of the Norwegian coast, but it's expensive. Alternative is taking flights up to the smaller cities up north, eg. Bodø or Tromsø. If you go in the summer there (june - august) there's sunlight the whole 24 hours up in the north.
