Kj3 Literal Translation of The New Testament - $28.66 Shipped @ The Book Depository

This is the translation that appears in the side margins of Jay P. Green, Sr.'s best-selling series of The Interlinear Hebrew-Greek-English Bible.
see here - https://www.bookdepository.com/The-Interlinear-Bible-Jay-Pat…
Many inc myself have the trusted KJV Bible, and coupled with this a very literal translation of the New Testament Textus Receptus or historical Majority Text for authenticity in modern usage.

I have squinted over the fine print of the expensive interlinear and just found and bought this for study. Whilst I maintain that the KJV is the English Bible standard, especially for memory verses. I am hoping to confirm this personally as the best or closest modern language version. At Koorong for $46 https://www.koorong.com/search/product/kj3-literal-translati…
Angus and Robertson have none in stock bit cheaper but have to add postage under $50.

I'd be happy give it as a gift in tandem with KJV.

Most modern translations add or take away words without any Greek/Hebrew support whatsoever to accommodate theological leanings. Even the NKJV adds 'continue to' in 1John 5:13 without warrent.

Or if you want a very condensed version of the Bible message watch 22min movie here:

4 other online retailers are cheaper than your post. But thanks for the neg on my comment!

Maybe if you did research you'd find a better result… Am I referring to the subject matter, or the price, or both?! I'll leave that up to you.

        • I didn't think the poster was able to neg comments?

@Spackbace: Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. I don't know why I thought that since I've never posted a deal as a store rep.

  • Doesn't strike me as much of a deal tbh..

I could smear a 99c Big W exercise book with faecal matter and charge 98c and it would be a better deal than this is.

do they stock it in the fiction section ?

  • Literal translation…..
So it spells out that it's all made up and the points don't matter?

  • +2

Not my favourite fiction novel, prefer the discworld myself.

Do people still read this fairy story in 2017?

    • A version which tries to explain the differences in meaning and fact that some passages are untranslatable (and therefore made up in common versions) when translating from an ancient language and society is at least better than the regular versions which some people take literally.

Is this translation honest? Does it include notes for all of the forgeries we now know exist? Only half of the writings that were originally attributed to Paul have any chance of being genuine to the period - does this translation clearly define this area? Does it note all of the Gospel contradictions. What about Nicodemus and the born again word play that only works in the Greek language(not a lot of versions note this).
