Toymate Chatswood has this for $55

    • $40 or $50 seems about right for this.

Shame that the anchor price of $200 was far too high… They've missed out on lots of sales!!!

    • Just want to double check, was the $55 model U Command or Sphero? I try to search for this particular model online and the result shows only Myer sells this particular model.

      • Looks like u-command is not controllable by smart phone/iPod. And yes it's not that widely available like sphero.

        • I think one of the nicest features of this model is that it can also be voice controlled (for simple stuff).. Should be lots of fun for kids!

        • @feihong:

Isn't the normal BB8 voice controlled as well?

@Sharp: I just did a quick research and realise that the Sphero version can also be voice controlled too, so really the difference between the two, apart from what you said about the remote control, is the sheer size of the robot (This one is the official Disney version and is usually only exclusive to certain retailers worldwide, such as Tesco of the UK and Myer here).

    • Toymate Chatswood has this for $55

Are you sure that was for the U-command one and not the Hasbro one??

  • +1

Actually, good point. I though there was just Sphero or U-command but it could actually have been the Hasbro one. Box looks very similar for Hasbro and U-command but the controllers look slightly different. Apologies to OP if i was mixed up, just trying to help everyone get the cheapest price.

For everyone's info, it could work out to be cheaper by purchasing it directly from Myer online with the ANNIVERSARY20 code, because you also get Myer One points (worth 2%),cashrewards rebate of 3% (as opposed to 1% with ebay), and you also have the option to finalise the payment with discounted Myer gift cards.

I remember when these first came out and were selling for $249 and flying out the door ha. Seems like a great deal at $80 !

    • That was the tablet controlled version. This seems like a cheaper iteration.

      • From memory there was only one version of U Command sold at Myer, and it was originally priced at $550, which would explain why it was selling so quickly when it was advertised for $249

  • The Sphero version (which is tiny compared to this) is also available at $180:
