  Duty on cider is the same as on wine if I'm not wrong, so will be far less than beer/spirits with same amount of alcohol.

    You're correct. I thought it was still on the alcohol content, but it's actually 29% of the wholesale price, then of course 10% gst. So its probably still a good chunk of the final price!
