Fetch Mighty $399 @ Harvey Norman ($300.59 with $100 AmEx Cashback Offer) + Bonus $20 Harvey Norman Gift Card

141

The cheapest I've seen in the past year with a bonus $20 gift card.
You just need to find something else for $1 to get the $100 cashback from AmEX.

For example: Pink photo frame for $1.59
Effectively that will make the Fetch Mighty $280.59

Mod: Updated AmEx cashback price in title to include the photo frame so it meets the requirements for the cashback spend.

Original deal: AmEx Statement Credits: Harvey Norman - Spend $400 Get $100

Insert every product that HN sells @ RRP (+$100 Amex Cashback)

    Cmon…

    • Should be posted to amex thread

    • +1

Agreed. This is ridiculous. The only bargain here is the original $100 deal.

Is having an Amex a common thing?
Keep seeing these deals come up but I don't have an Amex. Am I supposed to have one?

    • great to have one especially the ones without annual fee

      • Why is it great to have one.

        • +2

because of all the offers mate. i think its a no brainer when you can save money from using your spending and also accumulate credit for free flights.

        • @Serathis:

… and you get much better points for each $ spent than non-amex cards. Plus for a lot of the big retailers you can click through Qantas Online Mall (if you have a Qantas FF account) and they have regular deals of up to 10 points per $ spent. DJ's and a few others have such an offer now. #pointshack :)

    • +1

Yes all these deals that assume everyone has Amex and probably multiple to take advantage of all these offers.

      • -1

Just like all the eBay deals that assume everyone has a PayPal account.

        • Signing up for a PayPal account:
          * Takes a few minutes
          * Everyone is accepted
          * Activation occurs instantly
          * You can use a debit card or only add needed money to a PayPal, to limit fraud hassles.

        • @PainToad: lol

  • Not a snarky question- but why would I buy this outright vs get it direct from a telco (ie Optus)??

    • +1

Only if you sign up for internet. If you're not with Optus you need to buy outright.

    • I'm with Optus - but to get this through them, i'd have to pay an extra $20 a month - after 15 months, i'd be worse off than buying it outright now

      • the extra $20 is just for renting it, you have to return it to them if you end the plan as well

        • yeah this is much better. Only advantage of going through optus is they give you a free package of channels - but nothing exciting

  • Looking to churn my internet to unlimited from Adam Internet to Internode. If this happens then I'll have to get Fetch through a retailer so this looks to be the best deal out at the moment.

Interesting deal if combined with the Tivo $100 off Fetch TV deal.

    Fetch TV 399 + $1 filler + $Harvey Norman $100 gift card (or anything worth $100 that you like) = $500.

    $500 - $100 Tivo Coupon = $400

    $400 - $100 amex coupon = $300.

$300 outlay gets you Fetch TV, plus $100 + $20 gift card.

So potentially $180 for the Fetch TV.

    • Where is TiVo deal? Thanks

Question - Whats special about Fetch Tv that you cannot get with Foxtel Now? Is it the ability to record programs the only advantage?
Foxtel now is BYOD where else for fetch TV one would have to pay $299 for this device and I can cancel the foxtel service anytime.

    • +1

I want it for the device itself for FTA tv - its a good price for an user friendly but relatively powerful PVR.

The tv channels that you can get via Fetch aren't very appealing

      • How often are you recording stuff on FTA? Wouldn't the catch-up apps do the same thing?

        • +1

Not all the programs are on the catch up apps, and you can skip the adverts too which you can't do on the apps

        • +1
          • Not all shows are avaiable
          • Long term storage
          • Not relying on streaming (sometimes we have signal issues where the box is)
          • Easily fast forward ads
        • +1

You can also pause live TV

    • I don't have foxtel now, but I do have a fetch with full channel pack from my telco. I use the Fetch box to:

Watch TV (includes a number of Foxtel channels)
      Pause and Record shows
      Use Catch-up for FTA stuff
      Use Apps (Netflix, Youtube)
      Stream my Plex server items

  • Have a look at the Amex T&C's.

Looks like you can only do this via a few stores not nationwide. (Look at the 'Where to Redeem')
