  • Anyone receiving an error after they try to pay for something? I've tried different browsers, my mobile and cleared my cache but still continue to receive the same error.

    • +1

If you're receiving an error and want people to help you, you need to supply specific information, starting with the error.

  • Finally upgraded my PC with 16GB of DDR3 (I know, behind the times, right?) for ~$170 and picked up a cheap Netgear AC1200 network adapter for ~$60. Not a bad haul, in the end! Still waiting to see if any of the iPhone deals end up being really, really worth it.

    • the ram sound way expensive.

      • All DDR3 is, at the moment. First time some of the quality stuff like G. Skill Ripjaws have dropped below $180-190 in a long time. It's been sitting at that price point for quite some time, so I'm calling it a bargain.

        • get on to OCAU and pick it up dirty cheap

  • surface pro seller has 88.5% Positive feedback hrmmmm

  • Anyone having problems checking out? My attempt at buying something with the code has failed 3 times - it confirms the order, says payment is processing, and then the order just goes into my "Returns & cancelled" section with the text "Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled". If I click "View order details" it just takes me to an error screen that says "Order service temporarily unavailable or invalid parameters in the request URL".

Never had issues like this on eBay before.

EDIT: nvm, live chat says it's because the seller has an issue with their PayPal account. Bizarre.

    • I have the same issue. Are you perhaps trying to purchase something from Ted's? I've been trying to buy something from them and eBay said the same thing. I tried to pay with CC and it still didn't work. Just have to wait apparently :/

  • Do you guys have any suggestions for earphones and speakers that are below 70 bucks?

jw_computers has jacked Philips BDM4037UW from around $1000 to $1299, not cool

  • Just saved alott of money on my new build - I haven't brought much components during these sales before but I can happily say price jacking seemed to be much less a problem this time.

  • Cosmetics Now and Fresh should be deleted - they are no more in this deal with eBay. I've notified eBay. Pity because it was good to get fragrances from them during these promos.

X34 predator monitor from Austin Computers came down to $1175 yesterday. Only comes down to $1300 today.

  • Merged from Search an Item on eBay Stores That Are Included in a Current Deal

At the moment eBay has a 20% off deal going on which applies to more than 100 stores. Is there an easy way to search on eBay so that my search result only includes items from those shops?

      https://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/christmas-frenzy

Scroll down about halfway down the page, you'll see a search box…

      • Excellent! Thank you! Why that's in the middle of the page, I'd never know!

        • There is a link that was added into the original post which searched from the sellers only??? It's been there since the post on page1.

  • Anyone know when the last 15% site wide was?

    • just after the 20% off

    2 price jacks in 24 hrs…from $499 yesterday to $573.85 now…

    • The Ryzen 7 1700 is currently on sale @ amazon for about $381 last I checked. The 1700x is a much bigger discount but unless you were genuinely going to push it to the max and factor in the price of an aftermarket cooler (and a decent overclocking mobo) its not worth the price. Hell, its not really even worth the price then anyway.

Austin Computers adjusting pricing and cancelling orders.

Can't leave feedback for 7 days due to "powerseller" status.

    • +1

Yup! I wanted to buy two items from them, and all of a sudden the price for each item went up today (I couldn't buy one of the items yesterday as I was waiting for an email response from them re the item's specifications, which weren't available on eBay). I know this has been said repeatedly around here, but I can't wait for the arrival of Amazon in Australia. These eBay sellers are disgrace.

      • +7

They actually cancelled my order as I managed to order before they could jack their prices.

Phone call - claimed no stock, no back-order, no alternate options; but item is still available at higher price on their page.

        • +1

Won't go anywhere near them then. Seeing their feedback score I thought they were decent. Such a disappointment!

        • They ran out of one of my items too and called me to cancel but let me back-order although they had no ETA and said it was probably best to try another 20% off seller.

        • When approx did this happen? I can see price-jacks now, but luckily yesterday I got in on the earlier pricing (had been watching like a hawk for a new rig) - plus was watching for the discord users. I got a tracking email this morning so no cancelling.

Sad to see/hear austin doing this — Oh how I wish PLE did the ebay deals. I would just hand over my savings at the time to them.

        • +1

          @dfaktz:

I ordered Tuesday morning when the voucher went live, then the order was cancelled yesterday afternoon.

6 more days until I can submit feedback on eBay.

    • I guess same thing will happen to my order as well. I ordered on the 7th and no email or postage till today. I sent a message yesterday but no reply either till now. I guess I am better off cancelling the order with them and buying from some other 20% off seller. Bad bad Austin Computers

  • +1

Think of Us jacked the price up $110 on their Note 8 stock which they drip feed onto the site and claim its a stock issue. Interestingly I was watching previously before the sale was announced and it sat at $1299 and had 1 left in stock.

The 'low stock' excuse is pretty pathetic, these are the sellers that will make Amazon all the more successful when they launch here.

  • Thanks - grabbed myself a new multifunction printer - HP Laserjet Pro MFP M426FDW
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hewlett-Packard-F6W15A-LASERJET-P…

465 -> 372. Good price. Not sure how Click 'n' Collect is gonna go with this though.. the box will be enormous! And heavy…hmmm.

    • Doh. There's an extra 10% off warehouse1's ebay store now. Would be ~$319 or so if I bought today. Damn…

  • Austin computers are rubbish ordered the TP-LINK NC250 for $62.54 with the code on Tuesday. It should have arrived today but they are not even sending it till next tuesday.

    • Yes, not as bad as your situation but I ordered a gtx 1070 Tuesday morning and only got sent yesterday arvo. I thought it might be cancelled after seeing other comments here, so I guess I'm one of the luckier people. Still don't think I will deal with them again.

      • I called them up yesterday and they said they got 800-900 orders due to promo and they had heaps of back log of order and they are sending it tomorrow. Such a poor management on Austin Computers

        • +1

I had a call from them a few times too regarding a few parts on my order. To be fair I think it's just 1 guy handling it all lol. Feel bad for him.

        • @maybeamacy:that might actually be true. The "eBay" guy was apparently in lunch when I called them so I left my contact details and received the call after 30 minutes.

        • By the looks of the ebay sold page they have 270 orders from 10am on the 7th

        • @roshanrbb:

How was your order shipped? My first one was sent with courierplease but the other two just regular australia post..

        • @maybeamacy:mine is just standard Australia post and quoted 5 business days to get to sydney

        • @muchape: yeah it's too bad if it's just one guy running the show.

        • @roshanrbb:

My status is stuck on "Shipping information received by Australia Post". Does that mean its been lodged yet?

        • @maybeamacy:that could mean the consignment has been created but item hasn't been picked up yet.
Mine says it's already been picked up and it's sitting on Australia post facility on Welshpool WA.

  • Could anyone report on Ted's Camera's reliability? I ordered a lens from the on Tuesday, no notification of it being shipped so far (now Saturday), sent them a message on Thursday for update and no response. If they cancel my order i'm going to be mighty miffed because i can currently get the lens grey stock for the same price using the PHOTO code

    • I ordered just past midnight on Thurs night, got an email saying it's been marked as shipped Thursday afternoon. Got a call from their store/warehouse (?) in Victoria asking for confirmation of delivery address. Fair enough though as it didn't look like a residential address, but eBay doesn't leave room for you to put in a business name for delivery. Got tracking today saying it's with AusPost. Not sure what's going on with yours - I can PM you the number that called me though if you like

I bought Fuji stuff - a camera (available only by delivery) and two lenses (available by pickup). I had them all shipped in one order though for convenience.

      • Very interesting, cheers for that info. I’ll give the generic number a go on Monday and see how I go. Their handful of neutral and negative feedback saying that there was no stock is a little concerning.

    • I ordered form there 6 months ago, they sent the wrong item. I messaged them, they sent a full refund, didn't even want the wrong item back. Admittedly it was only $30.

      • Cheers, actually just literally got my lens just then in the post after getting a notification in my Aus Post account on Sunday. Was never marked as shipped on eBay and they never responded to my message 🤨, oh well.

  • Can someone recommend me a motherboard for a gaming build? I have got 32 gb ram, ssd and Ryzen 1700x so far. I'll go probably with at least 1070 as Graphic card. So what would you recommend. I'm not willing to spend so much for motherboard though.

  • If you add a product to your cart that is marked as "20% off with code PREZZY" and the field to enter the discount only shows "Gift cards, vouchers" does that mean the seller has removed the option to enter a coupon code? When I apply PREZZY, it says "This code can't be applied to your order.". Just checking…

  • Did anyone manage to score an iPhone 8 256gb at a decent (read: non-jacked) price during this sale? Just curious.

So frustrating. RRP is $1479 and every listing (aside from the grey importers with $100 shipping) is listed at ~ $1600 plus.

Ausluck: Price before sale $1469. Price during sale: $1629
My-phonez: Price before sale $1449. Price during sale: $1599

These greedy pricks will probably be the first ones complaining (well, second if you count Gerry Harvey) when Amazon comes in and wipes the floor with them.

  • Hi,
Is anyone else having issues getting the discount to work?

I put the item in my cart, at the bottom when I put the code it doesn’t recognise for some weird reason.

The item I’m referring to is this one
    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sealed-Factory-Unlocked-APPLE-…

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: got it from another seller.
    All phones to be exact

  • Any deal for in iphone 8?

  • FFS… cross referencing price on ebay to price on there online stores most parts have gone up 10% some up 20 to bring the price to the same they have in there store…

i was going to buy the "gigabyte gaming 7 z370" motherboard and there was one at 430… now they are $475 minimum - and what a surprise 10% more…
so the vendors must be putting in an additional 10%

had a system all planned out so that it would be about 2K for my new system… I just cant support a vendor that does that though!

think I'll stick with amazons normal price and get them landed at the same price (only problem is they dont ship everything to AU :( )

    • +1

I picked up the Z370 Gaming 7 for $317 with 3 day shipping from Newegg last week. It looks like the price went up this week though :(

      • nice! i noticed they have them at amazon for 249 US… which is still cheaper than the ebay 20% off sales…

the aussie vendors lift the price of items during these ebay sales, then cry poor when we import the same item cheaper paying expensive shipping even!

surely there is something wrong with our business model!
