      • I don't believe Ebay takes the hit for these selected seller sales, at least all of the hit. Site-wide sales they would.

  • $448 for the Mario Odyssey edition Switch… decent? Assuming $60 for the game itself.. that's about $380f or the console after cashrewards too… I don't have an AMEX for the AMEX deal…

    • +2

That's pretty good, people with AMEX were buying it from Big W for $529 - 100 = 429. So 448 without AMEX is still a good deal.

      • Bah they just jacked it by $20..

  • So if price jacking is rife, will anyone actually report it?

    • +8

No. People will upvote it instead.

      • Sheeple*

    • +3

I've put 3 reports in now, with irrefutable evidence, for 3 past eBay 20% off sales.
Each time I've been thanked for my feedback and promised that it will be investigated.

I'm sick of wasting my time. I've moved onto Stage 5 of the coping process: Acceptance.

      • Step 4.5 - put in Govt Ombudsman complaint against CAV for not taking action.

      • +1

We need someone to automate the process!

  • Thanks for this deal, I got a Sandisk 128 GB micro SD for $56.72.

  • Is the code not working for anyone else? No matter what I try to order from any of the stores, including related deals the code won't apply. On desktop, mobile app and mobile web.

    • Usually you need to be paying with a paypal account originally set up with an Australian address (If you set it up elsewhere and added an Australian debit/credit card it doesn't count)

  • Are there any stores that are really bad for price jacking?

  • +2

ffs some cumstain bought out the Xiaomi Mi Robot

    • Yep. Saw that. I had one in my cart and as soon as I checked out, it was out of stock.

      • Exactly what happen to me but i was actually about to buy it via paypal then it said out of stock :(

Just wondering what accessories are included with this? And how long is the warranty?

      • don't think so. but pick up is welcome

    Terrible

  • I don't agree with jacking but my understanding is that the retailer does pay a proportion of the 20% themselves.

    • +3

So what? A deal means seller is happy to pass some profit to you so you save money. If you pay the same, that is not a deal. This 20% sell is just a joke!

      • So, not all retailers who have jacked are pocketing the entire 20% which seems to be the implication by some posters on here.

        • +1

Nowadays you can easily have 5% or 10% or even 15% sales or targeted ebay voucher around. We want true 20% deals, not advertised 20% but actually only 10% or 5%.

        • No, the implication is simply that they are engaging in misleading advertising. If you look through the thread and do some quick divisions it's clear that much of the pricejacking is not the full 20%. In some cases it may still even be the cheapest price. But it's still illegal.

        • @mattythecapybara: That's how they put you in the trap that it is still cheapest, although only a few dollars cheaper. We want true 20% deal on top of whatever the advertised prices when the details of the deal was released, not the jacked price when the deal was live.

XBox One X for $550… Thanks OP! You get my upvote!

Teds didnt price jack - Good deals on Fujifilm lenses with cashback. XF16mm and Xf27mm are good value.

  • dcxpert didn't jack their price up for the lens I wanted. What a nice store.

    • I've bought a bunch of stuff from dcxpert previously and I can't recommend their service enough - they're definitely one of the good ones.

      Which lens?

      • Yeah I've spent probably close to $5000 on them in the past few years…

Picked up the last silver Pentax FA 43mm limited.

    • +1

dcxpert is C.R. Kennedy (the official Australian distributor of Surveying, Photographic, Medical and CCTV products) ebay store. I've bought a lot of things from them over the years and they have been really good with fast postage!

      • Yeah I know. I totally forgot yesterday was cup day so VIC was basically closed…No wonder it didn't get shipped!

  • +1

Any iPhone x import stock exist?

So I had some parts from Computer Alliance. I noticed that the only thing they jacked up was the Ryzen 5 1600 from $295 to $309.

They have $15 shipping, but its combined totally. Their selection is a bit small, hopefully these guys are decent.

  • Mi 6 64GB Black $452.39 with AU warranty.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-6-Black-64GB-4G-LTE-Unl…

  • Order the list by the most expensive. At the top of the list is a "Red Energy Blast - Starter - S60 Dragonball Z" for a whopping $5,314,958.95. But it's an absolute bargain after the the $1000 discount.

  • lol I wanted to buy a Hyper 212x from austin computers

had it in cart for $52.50 now its $55

sent them a message about it with no response and now its $51.45

its only a couple dollars here and there but it really puts me off that all these sellers have manipulative intentions.

Don't think I will buy anything from this sale. I don't want to support price jacking

hope ebay finds a way to stop this shit soon otherwise I'm gonna end up giving up on their whole site

    • Very happy with their DS918+. 20% off the MSY price with free shipping, cashrewards and no credit card fees ^_^

Most of their items seem to be very competitive compared to what's on staticice

  • Buy this for $4,251,967.16 after 20% off.

    • maximum discount of $1000 per transaction

  • -4

I bought a couple of items and btw they weren't jacked from yesterday.

We live in a free market and prices can change at any time. Check out the share market.

    So don't freak out!

Check the prices available at the time and take the best deal but it's entirely optional.

Otherwise go for a beer or something.

Or just stop false advertising and pricejacking.

    vs ebay cheapest deal..
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-nVidia-GeForce-GTX-1080…
    668… and from shopping express…

few bux cheaper in the sale, think I'll wait for the amazon black Friday sales… was hoping to get one under 500 but i guess that wont happen until after the 2080 is released… or second hand… (i cant believe how well these cards are holding there value)

    • Should I wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales to get parts for a new rig? Are there some computer parts that don't usually get a discount of greater than 20%?

      • up to you if you want local support and warranty Id get it cheaper locally now. if your a risk taker, not so much in a rush, there is a potential for a decent savings… there is no guarantee about future price during the sales though. I'm hoping i should be able to get one for around 500 - given they are 499USD at the moment. if the dollar would get a bit damn stronger, it wouldnt be a an issue.

but as i said, im not in a rush.

        • Thanks, I'll wait for Black Friday or even Boxing Day sales as I am not in a rush.

  • I'm after a PS4 Pro with Fifa 18. Which option to go with??
    - The GamesemenAu GT bundle ($444) & Fifa 18 ($69), so total $513. If can flick the bundled game for $40 (is that reasonable??); final cost $473.
    - EB Games GT + GTAV bundle. $479, flick bundled games for $60 (reasonable??), add Fifa 18 from sale ($69); final cost $488.
    - Hold for future price drops / sales (however don't want to wait more than few weeks).

  • I am after a 1gb ssd (samsung evo 850) from futu online https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/340093

    X-T20 Body Only $759.20 $959.20 $1,199.00
    NS-126W Batt NA $31.92 $39.90

    • +1

Nice - but the X-T20 cashback is only $75 though isn't it?

    • +1

      X-t20 cashback is $75

    • Ah correct guys. $75 for the Body. Also Max of $300 cashback per person / address. So I had to split it up the order.

  • +1

I have had a seller remove free delivery from the price of an item originally listed for $70.80, then advertise its been discounted to AU $70.80 and I save AU $15.15 (17% off), and then include a delivery fee of AU $14.95. So the total price after entering the 20% code would be $56.64 + $14.95 = $71.59. While then didn't jack up the up price, they have manipulated the delivery and perception that something is for sale, which it isn't and is actually more expensive. I certainly won't be buying from them anymore. Just as well cause I found a place that has a shopfront locally so I will go there and negotiate a better price.

  • Any good deals on monitors i like the 27" ASUS VP278H but without seeing it upfront its a little hard to decide
