Sennheiser White CX300s with Asymmetric Cable - $19.60 Delivered

910

These in-ear earphones use the exact same drivers and earpiece as the Sennheiser CX300 series, the only difference between a pair of normal White CX300 and this product is that this has an asymmetric cable, which means that you have a shorter length cable for the left earphone and a much longer cable for the right earphone, which is supposed to go behind your head, along your neck. Hence they are advertised differently as "Sennheiser Eco Ear Canal Headphones"
I have finally received the pink sennheiser cx300 from mymemory as well, which I have compared the sound quality and I can confirm these sound exactly the same.
The earphone plugs into your audio device are the same, the pink CX300s
At under $20AUD delivered (using paypal rates), these earphones are ridiculously cheap for their audio quality.
Do note, that due to christmas stock being shipped around, these will take around 3 weeks (it usually takes 10 days for me, this time it took 3 weeks) to arrive on your doorstep, maybe a little longer.

"Specification

If you want me to compare them to a product, I will say this:
I believe these $20 pair of sennheiser eco canal in-ears have much better clarity in terms of sound quality as compared to these Beats By Dr. Dre earphones (I've listened to my friend's pair), the Sennheisers have a slightly less smack-in-your-face punchy bass, and rather have a light warm roaring bass in them.
Now an audiophile may say that my comparison is just BS, since anything with Beats by Dr. Dre is just crap and marketting, which I do agree, but I'm comparing a very cheap pair of Sennheisers (less than $20) vs some piece of crap that retails for $229.95, and I am confident enough to say, that these completely blow the Beats By Dr. Dre out of the water.
Comparing to the MetroFi 220vs, I would personally prefer these over them, mainly because these have a warm roar in their bass, clarity-wise, they are very similar (I would prefer these, but that's up to you to decide).

        • You could have just said 'I have Sony earphones which broke recently and my Sennheiser earphone cable is too short. I appreciate the deal'.

  • Looks like a nice deal. I have CX500's from a year back and they're awesome, will pick these up as a secondary pair.

Site isnt working though. (Im using Chrome).

    • Yeh. No longer working and I'm on Mozilla.
Was working half an hour ago when I ordered.

  • Just use the cached version guys, it'll totally work.

  • tbh i am quite disappointed with the earphones in term of sound quality compared to my previous earphones (Sony MDREX85LPB). Also the Senn block out a lot of noise so gotta be careful when using it outdoor. The bass is also too powerful for me, I had to set my ipod EQ to bass reducer or flat (it used be to Rock or R&B). But then again the Sony is 3x the price, bought them more than 2 years ago and the right earphone broke last month :(.

Personal preferences of course, come into play. Most people like bassy music, let's face it, in today's society, as long as the singer is hot or not flawed in any way, and their voice isn't terrible, as long as their instrumental for their song is very nice, there's a top hit.
Just look at Ke$ha's Tik-tok. It's got a catchy tune though, but a rubbish singer and rubbish lyrics. People like it. shrugs
I know for a fact these, since I listened to my friend who bought them on "sale" for $80 at Bing Lee, are very tinny, have very good treble but absolutely no bass at all.

  • Does the site have any good quality in-ear headphones with mic and inline volume control?

I've been waiting to ditch my stock iphone buds but i love the volume + clicker controls!

    • take a look at earphonesolutions.com
they have a very nice range suiting most budgets

  • I've been asked to fax/email proof of address, first time buyer, is this normal? they are asking for a bank statement or utility bill.

    • +1

      How much are you buying!?
It's normal if you're buying a HECK load of stuff, it's not normal if you're only buying one

  • Spending about AU$80 … am cautious as it’s a bank statement that I would be emailing and I paid with paypal

    • Ah okay..
They just want to confirm your address, that's all, go email them your electricity bill or something (that only has your address w/o bank details) if you're that paranoid.
Probably cause they're afraid you're going to chargeback or something.
I've bought heaps of stuff from them, so I haven't had to email any bank statements =P

      • Unfortunately I don't have any bills with my address on it but I might just white out all the bank account details on a statement. I've just never been asked before to prove my address when paying with Paypal. Thanks for your input though ;0)

Just spoke to live chat and it's normal for them to ask for it for a first time order and according to Elliott (the guy I chatted with), they are getting asked the same question heaps

Ultimate Ears 700 + Sony S-series walkman = best combo I've tried so far. You need a good MP3 player to bring out the music too. Now I can pick apart every single instrument in a song and all of them sounds crystal clear without drowning out the vocals. The only downside is you'd pay a premium for this combo.

    • Beauty of a good DAP/PMP and dual driver earphones, wait till you have the urge to go triple :P

  • So how long is this deal going to be available? And how often do they ask for the bank statement, and do they ask for the bank statement after paying or before?

    • This deal has always been available..
They've never asked me for a bank statement, the first product I bought off them were HD205s, they were around $56AUD at the time.
I think they ask you after you pay - when they check your payment and are about to mail it off - just incase you could be giving them bogus details and charging back (they don't use registered post for 2 pounds, too expensive)

    • They ask after you've paid and before they send it out, it's for new customers with "high value" orders (I personally don't think an order for AU$80 is high value but you get that. You have seven days to provide before they cancel your order. You can also supply a copy of a utility bill.

      • meh, I guess I'll just purchase Koss KSC-75's instead.

        Thanks for the info btw.

    • 45 remaining! 8:57pm AEST.

      • where does it say 45 left I can see it….

        update:
found out by adding 50 to my cart, it'll come up with an error saying they dont have enough.
It's now down to 34 as of 10pm AEDT

        • Good work, you found out my method, smart =P
          27 as of 11:09PM

  • Just sold out.

  • Damn.. snooze you loose :/

  • Cwongtech you should get commission for this. No sarcasm at all, this was a decent deal and you've done a good job of convincing me of their authenticity as well.

    • Lol, I would have loved to, two problems:
      1) Negs because OzBargainers hate commision/affiliate links
      2) To become an affiliate I would need a website (really really cannot be bothered haha but I did think about it, more specifically I was thinking of a way to gather the revenue gained from it and buy headphones for the mods of this site [gained a fair few bargains on this site, I really thought about giving something back to the people who keep this site free of spammers])
Also, I'm pretty sure us OzBargainers took at least 200 of them, if not a heck lot more.
I would suggest, that scotty made OzBargain as an "affilate" without actually advertising them (mymemory), and when clicking on any mymemory.co.uk links, it would set a cookie in the person's comp (that's how the affiliate links work with mymemory) and hence sit there for 90 days, any purchases made within that 90 day period would give OzBargain 4% commision. Now that might not sound like much, but OzBargain is a massive community, and the affiliate link doesn't affect the purchasing experience at mymemory for the OzBargain user at all, and 4% of the money spent on these earphones alone would have generated a heck load of money to contribute to the server costs (that scotty has to pay out of his own pocket that might be covered or minimized by the ads)

      • Nice idea mate, I've reported your comment just so the mods will be quick in taking a look at it.

Also yeah I think you'd be negbombed like crazy for having an affiliate link, and then chastised by the mods. OzB is the least monetised 2000+ unique visitors per day site I've ever visited. Awfully decent of Scotty really.

Thanks for the thoughts, but affilation like this would just compromise the site. We get enough flack when we delete negative comments - they think we are in the pay of the poster rather than just following our guidelines - so imagine the uproar.

for those that miss out, theres a black version for $5 more,

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170545…

local seller, 227 units sold and 100% feedback, i might try it soon :D

    • can anyone confirm that this is legitimate?

      • hi mate i bought a pair because seller is local and promised a refund for fake products.

it sounds REALLY good even if its fake (very similar to the genuine Sony earbuds). Much, much better and usable than the fake cx500 i bought from ebay the last time :D

Also, i did a physical test and it all resembled the genuine version, so the mystery is still there but its a quality product nonetheless XD

        • How did he word the promise? A couple of people have left neutral feedback saying they are fake…I really want a pair pronto, but am very wary of being sold fakes (had a bad experience with fake buds before and don't wish to repeat! They were horrid!) At the same time, though most places charge horribly inflated prices for this model ($70 is considered cheap some places! Sheesh.)

I asked the seller a question, asking to confirm whether they were genuine, and never received a reply. What leaves you not completely convinced that they're genuine?

Cheers for any advice you can give me man :)

the pink ones are still available too
    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/In-ear-Headphones/Sennheiser/Sennh…

are they as good as the white ones?

    • +3

I never knew coulour could affect quality….

    • They are.
They don't have the asymmetric cable though, whether thats a pro or con is for your personal preference

  • This appears to be back in stock, for those that missed out! I haven't tried to process an order though, so there's a chance I'm missing something…

    • Never mind! Appears that it either sold out again or there was some kind of anomaly last night when I viewed the page…

  • Got them today - that took 11 days (including 2 weekends) - that's quick!

  • I got them too….the packaging was interesting.

The sound quality on these are impressive for the price. Best bang for buck purchase for a while now, now kicking myself I did't buy more.

Will get backups the next deal is out.

    Thanks to the OP.

    • Best way to say thanks is to press the positive vote button

  • Mine arrived too.

I find them tinny unless i really push them down my ear, is there any trick to place the things well in the canal? And yes i have tried all the sizes.

    • a drill bit to the ear would work wonders…..

Mine arrived and they are great, fit well so I guess its your ears…. sorry ;)

  • Mine came today…And I have got one word for them…Awesome…for the price that I paid … I think they were way beyond bang for the buck…!!!

  • got mine. thanks :)

  • 2 pairs of these I ordered got sent to the wrong address with the wrong billing address (no wonder they haven't arrived for me after 1 month)
Had a quick chat with the mymemory live chat people, Elliot was his name, all I had to do was forward the confirmation and dispatch emails to them, he checked it up and refund has been issued.
Also let him know about this site (maybe in the future they'll have a mymemory rep here or some deal posted)
