    I bought one of these for $49 a few months ago when BigW had them on special. Its a half decent rice cooker. Mine for whatever reason doesnt automatically go to the warm function though when the rice is cooked, so I have to always manually switch it to warm.

    Also it makes a pretty crap risotto. The 2 keys things in a risotto is to add the liquid in slowly, and to stir often to make sure the starch comes out into your sauce. The risotto setting basically has you dump all the liquid in with no stirring whatsoever.

      Yeah, I'd never use mine for what they call 'risotto', I'm a pedant when it comes to certain foods, risotto is one of them; do it right or don't do it I say! ;)

      That said, it certainly is a decent rice cooker, and picking mine up for $20 at Kmart one night makes it all the more fun to use! :D

      Asian grocers dude! My buddy has one that looks like they took a shrink ray to a 1kg cooker, reducing it to 25% size! ;)
