10%? That’s so 2 years ago! Come on, give us 20!!

    • Mind you, 20% off also = 20% jacking up in price… haha

      • +1

It doesn't happen if it's a discount on category or site wide.

        • oh true true! sitewide of course!!

    • I remember that one well…most of us scored so they turned it off early. Good old times plus 4% cashreward back then..

  • +10

The 20% off PREZZY code covers a number of camera stores - I used it to buy a Canon EF 50mm lens last night. Make sure you check both to ensure you're getting the best price! :-)

    • +1

I doubt those sponsered stores will be cheaper that every other seller on eBay, due to their pricejacking.

    • That's exactly what i am after. Could you give me the link of which one you bought please?

  • +2

Only for $75 minimum order value.

  • -1

Too bad no coupon stacking with PREZZY

    • Ebay has never allowed stacking

  • Does it include overseas sellers?

    • As long as its listed on ebay aus.

    • If in doubt, you can add items to cart then apply coupon to check prior to buying.

  • Can anyone recommend a budget DSLR camera? Interested in buying one to snap some quality pictures during my overseas trip to Japan.

    • As everybody will soon tell you - you need a good lens. If you aren't already committed to a system (sony, nikon, micro 4/3 etc) you might be better with a compact digital. What's your budget and are you into the finer points of photography?

      • A complete beginner with photography and cameras in general with a budget of ~$500. Have an interest in learning and wanting to take quality landscape photography.

    • +1

Nikon D3400 is an excellent budget DSLR. Link below has the 18-55mm lens which is a good starting lens for a holiday and has the 20% off using PREZZY on check out.

      • Recommend the camera but not the kit lens.
I have this set up with a 35mm and 10-20mm lens. Outputs amazing photos!

I'm looking to upgrade soon so this might be on eBay shortly haha

        • +1

You are probably right, the kit lens are often the first thing you upgrade but I think this kit lens the 18-55mm is perfect for a beginner and when your travelling and not sure of the scene you will shoot.

If the hobby and desire sticks when you return then buy an upgrade to the 35mm F1.8, the DX lens for this D3400 body is another $230-280 AUD and from a lens perspective is sharper, faster and has great bokeh.

I still think this base DSLR from Nikon with this lens is an excellent travel DSLR and that kit lens will give you great results.

        • Thank you! I have been recommended this camera series quite a few times, how's the price at $439.20 (with 20% discount) fair in comparison to its recent price history?

        • +1

          @yeahtheboys:

It is a good price. Just be aware this lens is not the VR one (Vibration Reduction) and most of the other kits are. It helps a lot in low light and general hand held indoor photos. not a complete show stopper at the price.

There will likely be a few good prices around black Friday sales(Nov 24th) that will get the price close to this for the D3400 with 18-35mm VR lens from someone like Teds which will get you an Australian warranty also often Nikon have cash back deals through Teds or Harvey Norman that might get the price close.

If you do get it use this guys guide for laymans terms on best use of this camera. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d3400/users-guide/index.htm

          @yeahtheboys:

imo its not important what you get as a first camera - just get something cheap.

You are only locked in once you buy your first expensive lens.

Buying a cheap camera allows you to
          1) Actaully see if you like photography
          2) Figure out the basics of how to shoot.
          3) figure out what it is you like to shoot and what lens you need to shoot that with - hence why 18-55mm kit lens is fine to begin with. That will allow you to see if you want something wider/longer/more macro/more DOF etc etc.

Personally I would go mirrorless because it gives you more lens options if manual focus doesnt frighten you.

With this ebay sale - you could get something under $300 pretty easy. Just get something as new as possible eg. something ex demo or used by somebody that got up to step 1) and said "nope" lol.

Any SLR/Mirrorless that is 16mpx or more (last 5 years basically) has more than enough picture quality for a beginner

    • +1

It really depends on what your budget is and if you plan to keep it more than a budget investment.

Consider a mirrorless camera over the SLR if it fits your budget as it'll be a lot lighter and less bulky especially since you're using it for travel.

I shoot with both and I rarely carry my SLR overseas these days (unless I really need it) due to the weight.

  • Can anyone recommend a low/mid budget replacement for the stock Canon 550D 18-55mm lens? I already have the nifty 50mm prime lens but would like a 'general use' lens with some zoom.

    • Sigma make a decent 17-55mm 2.8 zoom for a reasonable price. The Canon version is no doubt better, but twice the price.

      • this is a good choice if its not out of budget. $370 pre 10% discount from a quick check.

but OP needs to ask what it is they are missing. aka what they want.
This sigma lens has the same zoom range but gives you f2.8 so better DOF control..

you can for around the same price get a "superzoom" lens such as 18-250mm which just gives you more zoom in the tele range.

        • Thanks for the tips. I like the range of 18-55mm as I tend to take photos of family events, city architecture, holidays. The prime is sharp but would like some zoom for more flexibility, and the 55-250mm kit lens is prob a bit extreme. Cannot justify anything over $500 really though so know options are limited. Hoping for a 20% sale!

        • @barnacle:

If u want to save some money u can get the older Tamron 17_50mm f2.8.

          Difference is no OS/VR.

Picture quality is still good though

    • 18-135 with IS and USM is a good budget lense, I replaced my 18- 55 kit lense with this a few years ago and am very happy with it.

    • Why dont you buy the Sigma Art 18-35mm f1.8 lens? Its tack sharp, fast, and workable zoom lens for everyday use. To me anyway, the faster aperture is worth more than the extra 20mm zoom.. I'd rather have shallow dof & low light capability, than to have zoom (which I can do post edit by digitally cropping it anyway)

It may be a bit over your budget, but I'd say its an awesome lens. Probably too perfect for its focal length! You wont even need your nifty 50

      • great lens, but it has focus issues :(

  • Where's the iPhone X camera listing…

    • It's broken

  • I assume this works for used as well?

    • +1

      Yes it does.

  • How long does this kind of 10% voucher usually lasts? 2-3 days??

  • Thanks for posting this. Picked up a new Tamron 70-200 F/2.8 at $914. That's a really good price.

  • -2

PREZZY code gave me 20% off when I bought a camera yesterday.

  • Any ideas how long this will last for?

  • Awesome! Got a Zhiyun Crane-M for only $365, about $200 less than you'd pay in Australia.

  • Damn I used it twice already.. :/ waiting for the next sitewide voucher to come along..

  • Anyone can use this today? It seems like it may have expired
