ALDI are resorting to high-pressure sales tactics.

    • +3

Well I'd be foaming at the mouth if I didn't buy

      • +2

Under the pump to get one before the clean out?

        • I cant resist this high pressure to comment too

        • I don't want to cop a spray for not joining in

  • +3

aint nothing more satisfying then power washing the tiles that you thought were pretty clean before

    • +1

      @ohhidayo

So ok to use in the shower eh ?

      • +2

hmmm not sure about that I've never used it in there just the outside driveway, just be careful it might obliterate your grout lol

      • +7

I think you should stick to using the showerhead to shower. You may find using a pressure cleaner in the shower painful eh

        • +1

I dunno, I've read about things people should try with those pressure shower heads :-P

        • @dufflover: Get off the internet. My god.. what am I alluding to?!

          I'll see myself out. kthxbye

    • +2

yeah, just spray one tile to see if anything happens, it does, then you have to do all the remaining 83. Damn

      • +2

Place a potted plant over it :P

  • +2

Might be high pressure, but the flow rate is pretty average.

    • would it reach up to 3-4m high?

      • +1

No chance, 2 metre max then it turns into mist.

      • The issue is the weight of 4 meters of water would cause pressure loss which wasnt very much to begin with

  • So will this be available 830am on Wednesday 15th at Aldi?

Will there be a mad rush, I've never done of these limited stock purchases from Aldi?

    What should I expect.

    • +2

      Expect punches and pushes.

      • Don't forget the odd stabbing…

        • +5

          only in blacktown

    • queuing at 7am to have a chance, never again…

    • +5

Let me give you the secret, it's not who enters the door first it's who gets there first lol.

      • Yes staff members.

  • +2

Ozito is 3 year replacement warranty though..

  • +3

Wouldn't be surprised that bunnings comes back with a similar offer during that sale week. We'd have to check out bunnings next week

    • You too
Oh mighty Nostradamus, what at the next lotto numbers.

  • So this one or pay a little more and buy the ozito from Bunnings?

    • +5

      They're both shit.

So does this thing have to be connected to a tap and wall socket for it to work? I've never used these before…

    • +1

      Yes tap and normal powerpoint.

    • +1

      Yes

    • +2

I've got the cheap Gerni from a while back and that talks about using a large bucket as a water source. We've done that once to clean an area nowhere near a tap so it was handy.

      • I’m thinking of cleaning my push bikes with this but if it needs to be connected to a tap then it’s probably no good for me. Is it specifically the Gerni you have that can use a water bucket or can pressure cleaners in general do that?

        • +1

If the manual doesn't specifically warn against it, say a warning about a minimum inlet pressure, then I'd say it's worth a crack. They are all water pumps of some sort in the end so just depends if this one can manage it (I have no idea).

The other thing is you may not need a long hose but may need a long extension cable instead!

        • @dufflover: I see. Thanks!

  • how does this compare to the karcher k2 , borrowed my brothers one, but if the karcher is better i'll just continue borrowing his

    • +2

I found that Karcher to be poor quality.
I had one, dads been through two.
I ended up buying a similar size Gerni and it's a heap better and has lasted.

      • my Karcher starts leaking today… but after 7yrs… thinking again whether to go ahead with Karcher or this ALDI

        • +2

Our three we had just failed after a few years use, and not much work.

Get the Aldi and try, or buy a Gerni.

        • If you want your next pressure cleaner to last another 7 years, you might need to wait for their bigger more powerful model that has 3 yrs warranty and could go the distance with moderate use.

Otherwise go for the Ozito with 3 yrs warranty, at least you'll get close to halfway lol.

Seriously though, what model Kacher did you have? How often did you use it? You probably treated it well as in used it standing up only and no more than one hour at a time with cooling breaks. Used the filter to keep water clean etc. ? I had a $500 Kacher that did not last one year before repairs as I used it laying down and for too long without resting to cool down. Have used the Aldi $130 for small one hour job and thought it was great for the price. Also Gernies are better too than Kacher for comparing similar price models.

If you just wanted a small light machine for small jobs a few times a year, this $49 could be worth a go too.

  • Ozito's the way to go. It's very bad quality, but it comes with a 3 year replacement warranty from Bunnings. Comes on special for $69 from time to time. Do yourself a favor and get the version with wheels. You'll thank me for it.

  • +1

Perhaps I need to hand back my OzBargain membership card, but I'm not sure that cheap is an adjective I want to hear in conjunction with a device that uses both water and electricity …

  • Damn loooks like a better version of the one a few months ago

  • Damn gonna try for one! Much chance of getting one? Probably not!

  • Suitable for car wash?

    • You can wash with just a hose, so I say it is definitely suitable.

    • Not at all. These are total rubbish.

  • -1

Not hating on the deal, but is there sufficient quantity?

  • Bought one last time, couldn't return it fast enough. Completely useless. Didn't have the power to move dust.

  • Ozito comes with more attachments and Aldi sells them separately. For car washing you will not be using high pressure so ozito will be a better choice I think

    • Na this one comes with all the attachments you would need. Soap/foam sprayer bottle, wand, decking/pavers cleaner

      • I paid 89 for bowden foaming bottle :(.

        • I doubt it’s as good as a proper foaming bottle - but for my cheap Japanese car it will do the trick

      • Sorry I am wrong then.

  • I assume Karcher and Gerni attachments will not fit. Are there like adapters to allow the use of other branded accessories?

    • +2

pfft real OzBargainers just use tape! :P
      lol

  • REAL OzBargainers use one of the free/cheap student 3D CAD packages to spec out the adapter they require and then 3D print it on their Aldi 3D printer.

  • Should i invest in a better brand like Gerni? or just get this or the ozito one? For cleaning deck and concrete.

    • Ozito due to the 3year warranty. I have both a Karcher an Ozito. I prefer the gun on the Karcher but everything else about the Ozito. The Ozito also uses a 1/4" quick disconnect hose which is great for packing up and also upgrading more easily if someone wants to

  • +1

Bought one of these when Bunnings had the combo for $99 with shop vac earlier this year, was located at the front at checkout at my local.

It does the job, I would buy again for $48 if I needed another.

1300W not 1400W not that it matters much

    • Whoops, posted in the wrong thread, thought I was on the Bunnings Ozito thread.

  • Just letting everyone know that I will be either buying this or the Ozito from Bunnings.

    • +2

it is better that you play with water rather than fire given your namesake.
We all feel better now you've let us in on your improved mindset! :O] +1!
(Don't overcompensate though by using a lake full of water to wash your car!)

  • +1

Just picked up the Ozito from Bunnings at Maroochydore, $48.OO , then cruised by Aldi 2 buy a pair of Hard cover Suitcases with Combo Locks and TSA Locks for $129. What a country !!

  • +1

Picked one up today. Seems decent quality, for $50 its hard to complain though. Very small unit which is fine for me since all i want it for is the car. Raining all weekend but will give it a crack next week and see how it goes!

  • +1

Bought one, tested cleaning the stained brick wall. I am happy with it. Will join the hose with my old one to extend it to 8m. Will return the $48 Ozito one to Bunnings.

  • Managed to score the last one at my closest branch. Apparently about 60 sold earlier on

    • Congrats to you!

I called Aldi earlier today and wa informed there were just 3 left in the whole of Victoria. My nearest store was 200 km away.

  • Thinking of getting a foam lance/attachment for this to give the car a good foaming. Any tips for a decent cheap one that will fit this pressure cleaner?
