More like returning to the air soon, they're refurbs remember :)

  • Anyone had their's sent yet? (apart from the 1st guy to post). I ordered early this morning and nothing.

    • +1

just got an email saying order just shipped via UPS

      • Yeah same. Woot woot.

    • Mine's shipped, but going via the Global Shipping Program which I never heard of till now. Basically looks like its getting sent from Florida to Kentucky from Drone Nerds, then I'm guessing KY to AUS?

      • i worry about ebay global shipping program, they lost an order shipment i placed recently, got refunded but i wanted what i ordered more :(

        • Worse case scenario, the postie steals it and you get a refund, kogan's flogging them off for $1099 with aus warranty, free shipping. Maybe even cheaper if you buy discount GCs?

          https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/dji-mavic-pro-drone-official-dj…

Also GST is included, so theoretically you can collect that if you're leaving the country in the next 60 days which closes the gap a little more. And thats IF the postie loses it :)

  • I would of bought this to practice. As I just got the platinum and first flight I have broke the antenna leg hahaha.

Any one know where to buy spares or replacement parts from?

Anyone tried buying and doing the forward shipping?

Getting an US address and they ship it on to you ro Aust?

      have, anyone, a

      • Thanks mate :) laughing out loud

    • *I would of -> I would have

    • No care refresh?

  • Mine was shipped via UPS and is scheduled to arrive 14/11/17.

I purchased the LowePro Droneguard CS150 bag from Ted's via ebay using the 20% off code PREZZY. I also decided to buy a genuine battery from Australia as the Mavic will be here soon, so also paid $8 more by buying through Ted's, the second shipped item was free.

    • When did you buy yours? mine says: Estimated delivery Thursday, Nov 23, 2017 - Saturday, Dec 2, 2017

      I got mine friday morning.

      • I ordered at around 7.30am on the the 10/11/17. So my ebay says the same date as yours however if you go to UPS and input the domestic tracking number that starts with 1Z you get the UPS delivery date and for me that is still saying by end of day 14/11/17.

        • Yeah that's when the drone will arrive at the US destination…after that they have to forward it on and get it through customs and then to Australia.

I wish it wasn't but we will be waiting a while!

        • @lowrider88: whoops, your right! no rush to receive, still got a phantom 3 to fly.

        • @dandandan: did anyone else get charged extra? i have two charges on my cc account and its about 40$ more than what the ebay receipt page says it is?

        • @lowrider88: foreign currency card fees?

        • @dandandan: it's charged on two accounts. The price of the drone in one charge and shipping in the next.

Mine seems to have spooked someone at customs. Delay at Global Shipping Center - Special Handling Review

          Anyone else get this?

        • @BargainKen: Yep - I got the customs check thing last night as well. I heard that in some jurisdictions, ALL parcels declaring batteries are scanned for explosives. Seems like a reasonable measure. The pilots who fly the freight jets with thousands of batteries aboard are my heroes! I don't mind waiting a few days for their safety :)

        • @bohdud: the wording of the email from eBay made it sound suspicious.

        • @BargainKen: yeah definitely haha

        • @BargainKen: i get that its charged on two accounts, but it seems they didnt take into account the discount code :/

regardless, i got a txt from DHL saying mines out with the courier for delivery today!

  • Mine was ready to pick up around 9am today and I got it in front of right now. Only got time to open the box and the condition looks great so far, no scratches or any noticeable wear and tear.

  • my one is awating collection at my DHL hub. will drop by to pick it up on the way home later today. the dhl estimate initially stated 21-nov so it is a day early.

  • Mine is being delivered today as well.

  • Gone mine today,

Looks good so far, no scratches.

I'm looking to buy the DJI care refresh for it, would it work for an import refurbished unit ?

  • ^i might be doing a one plus one here but:

based on this site: https://store.dji.com/refurbished care refresh can be used on a refurbished unit (Q4)

and based on this: https://www.dji.com/service/djicare-refresh/info #11 says you can buy a unit from china and register a US care refresh. care refresh is available in Australia too

so one plus ome says, you can - just my understanding

    • yup you're buying insurance, not warranty. The insurance actually has an underwriter depending which region its bought from which I think is why coverage isnt global. Most people who buy this drone get the insurance because they're likely to crash it, and if you intend on flying it low you probably will at some point. Given the nature of the product and its price, its not a bad idea either.

Just be ware that if you do total it, you are required to return the totaled drone. So if it managed to find its way to the bottom of the ocean, you need to retrieve it to make a claim. Most likely in place for fraud reasons.

      • 20% off care refresh using "POOLSIDE" code: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-MAVIC-PRO-AUSTRALIAN-CARE-RE…

        Maybe its meant to be?

        • Just checked mine by typing in a random activation code and my serial number and it says its been activated for more than 48 hours - even though the first time I switched it on was last night and the first flight was this morning. Looks like to activate the refresh you have to go through the process of uploading a video as per the instructions here: https://repair.dji.com/en/djicare/customerupload

        • Is this definitely valid for refurbished units imported from the US? Knowing every other tech company's tactics, surely they would say you can only purchase the "Australian" Care Refresh in Australia, and it's only applicable to brand new units purchased in Australia from an official reseller?

        • @bohdud: contact DJI support. They should be able to fix it

        • @bohdud:

i just had my dji care refresh for australia registered for a unit bought through this deal.

i had the 'its been activated for more than 48 hours' issue as well but dji support sorted it out for me.

      • Just an FYI for people with one of these.

My home and contents covers this for $3.99/month - they'll pay for it if I crash it etc. and also covers it overseas up to 35 days.

        $100.00 excess

Think this is WAY better than DJI refresh!

  • my unit arrived via dhl today…happy camper.

  • mine came today as well. looks brand new.

haven't had a chance to launch it or test it yet but can't see any issues…
