  • Thx for the deal OP. I like how the Rpi case is made out of aluminium instead of using weaker perplex glass or weak 3d printing material.
    Just purchased one :)

  • Thanks Op. Just in time I am looking to get a case for my pi3. I couldn't figure out if this case will fit the Pi3 with the GPIO board attachment. Anyone knows?

    • No worries,

Can't answer that. Maybe rep can?

    • Product picture show GPIO ribbon some out from the side (red)

      • The GPIO board is connected to the terminal strip of the RPi and covers the top of the rpi. Dont think the picture shows that.

  • +1

I thought it was a Raspberry Pi 3 as well as a B+ case. Unfortunately it's only a Aluminium Case with Fan for Raspberry Pi 3/2/B+.

  • Better than the cardboard box my 3 pi's have been sitting in for the last 3 years.

    • What have you got each one set up as. Just purchased my first one.

      • +2

        Dust collectors

        • Ha prob a popular choice.

      • If you are after a bit of an enthusiast project

You could get on this -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/341424
And then get on this -> http://docs.openhab.org/installation/openhabian.html

From there you could get an Amazon Alexa Dot or Google Home (never tried this one) connected etc.

        • Why did you recommend openhab rather than hass.io that I see mentioned on here quite a bit? Just wondering as I'm going to set one up soon and looking for what will be easiest/lowest ongoing maintenance.

        • +1

          @sav11:

Only because I've used openhab and not hass.io :)

I actually run openhab as a docker container on my HP Microserver and it has been super stable which is what you want for home automation stuff. Openhab is pretty config file driven so has a bit of a learning curve but has great support for many brands of home automation hardware as well as pushing data to persistence dbs such as influx (which you can then push to visualisation tools like grafana).

I can recommend openhab, but can't compare it to hass.io as I've never used it - looks cool though.

  • Want to purchase but the site wants to charge me for shipping to VIC AU.

    Also tried just 1.

    • select the free shipping option in "continue to checkout" page

  • Op, when will the black one be available again?

  • sale over?

  • Has anyone received their order? Still waiting…

    • Did you ever receive your Raspberry Pi case?

I'm still waiting for mine and LightInTheBox just keep telling me to wait, wait, wait !

  • Still waiting…

  • I'm another one still waiting despite an order shipped email 17th Nov.

    Raised 2 tickets.

1st one: Please wait until the 24th Dec (34 days)
2nd one: (raised 26th Dec) Please wait 60 days !!
