Had this from earlier this year, lasted about 3 months, after that the fabric was so brittle it would break from virtually anything that touched it.. I did have it up 24/7 as a temporary cover for the car, in normal use I'd guess it would last a while.

3 months 24/7 is pretty piss weak. I almost bought before you posted this.

Glad I was able to save you some money. I would use tape to patch up the rips in the fabric until one morning the whole top area had ripped down, wasn't a overly windy night either.

          90 days in the sun.

It is piss poor, but that would be years of camping trips for me.

          @Grunef:
Yeah don't think these were ever meant to be a permanent structure!

  • Got one, thank you!

I bought one last year for about 80 bucks i think.

Put it up in the backyard (melb) over summer and it lasted the 3 months.
(Planning on putting it up again this week)

I initially tried it without the guy ropes and it blew over.

It is massive and acts as a huge sail catching even minor wind so you need to take the time to set it up properly.

Also make sure the roof vents are always open so the wind has somewhere to escape.

Definitely worth a punt for 54 bucks

  • I've had one of these styles before and it was more effort than it was worth compared to a traditional square gazebo. Can't speak for this specific model but putting together the individual bits of frame and getting them even was a nightmare. Got leaned on after one too many pints and was bent and ruined. You do in turn get 4.2 x 4.2 coverage and at $54 you're probably winning really.

    • with all those guy ropes and splayed legs after too many pints it could be a death trap.

Invest in a Deluxe Oztrail Gazebo and save all the pissing about trying to put these up. Mine is 5 years old, sun bleached, but still going strong.

  • Found this good deal (4 person dome tent) on the same page:

  • Question to the owners - how long is the travel bag it's in? Not in the specs - and its a factor when packing the car. Thanks in advance.

      Probably about 1m long

  • I have the Coleman Event 12 which I bought for $30 on gumtree. Going strong and I believe this style is much better than square gazebos as the coleman E12 definitely provides more shade in comparison to an equivalent size gazebo. I was tempted to buy it but people above don't seem to rate it very well :(

    • Yeah Event 12 or 14s are the kings of portable gazebos.

      • Yeah, they are very good. Mine had one of the legs broken at the connection point when I bought it but I affixed them together permanently and it's going strong.
I couldn't resist and bought the Ridge rider. I'll see how I go. At worst, it's got 1-year warranty and I should be able to find out in 3 months anyway :)

  • bought this and put it up last night, looks great and is huge. recommend 2 people to put it up though.
