    How reliable is this mob?

  • 50km metro & 100km regional sounds impressive.
I'm thinking of doing a roadtrip somewhere around regional Victoria over Christmas …. wondering if at this price is too good to to be true.

  • The "Premium" link doesn't work for me with the capital P. Have to use lowercase for some reason:

    • Updated thanks

  • i cant get the page loaded. I am getting message " The page is not working"

  • I get roadside for like $60 per year with my insurance premium… aami

    • comprehensive insurance ?

      • Yes.

    • Im with aami who is there roadside with?can you join anytime or only when your policy is due for renewal?
As just paid my renewal on my insurance few months back.
I have had free roadside assistance with my car since new but believe expires end of dec so looking for something to replace.
How would the aami compare to this one listed or even rac?

  • budget offers roadside on their third party policy

  • wow! free battery and parts to get back on the road if no dealer is open nearby (except for breakdown caused by customer's fault)

    • You didn't maintain your car = Your fault?

That says cover avail when breakdown is over 100km from home.
What happens when breakdown is within 100km?

  • Just curious to know how important it is to get this? Is it essential if we maintain our cars and get them serviced regularly?

IMO it's useful for things like if you get a flat battery or flat tyre.

Modern cars shouldn't breakdown if they're well maintained… but unexpected things like punctures can leave you stranded if you dont have a spare tyre or dont know how to change a spare wheel.

i haven't clicked through yet, but i'm looking for something to cover my motorbike as i can't carry a spare tyre/wheel with me… only a puncture repair kit which isn't ideal.

I once had to call roadside assist to get a flat tyre off because some overzealous service person overtightened the wheel nuts using a pneumatic gun.
Even the roadside assist guy had trouble but fortunately he had a metre long wrench in his toolkit.

I've also used them for a few flat batteries as well on my older cars.

Well i only used mine once with car from new needed new battrery have had car 4 and half yrs.
But for me it was free when buying car,as mine is due to expire next month looking for replacement.
And its more for wife and kids when in car if im not around.
I back in 2004 drove around australia did approx 30,000km in an old 20 yr old car.
Car played up on me needed roadside assistance got me going again and within 30mins to hr broken down again.
First time was got me started, second time was take me to garage of my choice.
Not only that in the place i was no accommodation (backpackers) so with my roadside i got a free night in a hotel/motel.
As part of my membership this alone paid for what i paid for my years membership.
This was with rac which im sure if much more than these listed.
But now the car is starting to age things might start going wrong but not just that if wife is in car with kids and has a flat she not have a clue and be impossible with two kids so for me alone thats why i want to have it.
Everyone is different, you could have your car 10 yrs never have an issue and never have a flat etc and think of money saved.

    • It's like insurance - not necessary, but even one call out from NRMA if you don't have road-side assistance is around $89 (from memory), so if you need it even once, it pays for itself.
