I knew this would happen. Last week I bought the Benq G2420HD for $205. LED would have been nice.

Was a good deal a month ago.

IMHO it's still pretty darn good, considering the price includes shipping! ;)

        • and i'm pretty sure hitting the nice big green +'ve isn't hard either ;)

@Trance, sorry I can only do one thing at a time dude! ;)

ROFL, I got negged for agreeing with the OP! Lol, idiots! :p

  • got one of these a few weeks ago when they were on special. awesome!

is it possible to get 72 or 75hz?

    • +3

Are you thinking about the optimum refresh rate as in CRT monitors era? The higher number of Hz is better for your eyes? Don't worry about it. LCD has no such flickering issue like the CRT monitor in the past.

What you looking for in LCD is "response time". Lower the number, the better.

  • Whats the go with monitors not coming with any cables anymore?
    "Cables sold separately."

    • It should come with at least DVI and VGA cables, I think what they mean is that the HDMI and 3.5mm sound cables are sold separetly

      • Right you are! Cheers!

        Includes
        Power cord
        VGA cable
        CD User’s guide and documentation

DVI cable and HDMI cable are not included

        • Thats a little cheap from Dell, Cheaper monitor AOC brand comes with HDMI and 3.5mm sound cable and DVI cable along with the rest mentioned above.

        • My 23" Acer monitor for $150 after cashback came with both VGA and DVI cables (doesn't have HDMI port).
Still a great deal, HDMI cables are only $5.

Grab it off here instead if you need it, cheaper than what they'd make you pay

  • Doea anyone know what Dell's dead pixel policy is?
Can't seem to find it anywhere on their website …

    • From what I have seen trolling various forums if there is a single dead pixel you can get it swapped for another, but there is no guarentee that the replacement will be perfect or even a brand new monitor (possibly refurbished).

Still great value. And for what its worth my older model dell 24" has no dead pixels.

So you "troll" forums or was that humour?

        • You know what he meant… trolling as in skimming through forums.

The problem here is that for many people, the term "trolling" gets confused with the phonetically similar term "trawling"! The former is a deep-water fishing technique using a baited line, hence the internet parlance for actively eliciting responses, often negative!

The latter, however; whilst also being a fishing term, meaning to drag heavy nets at a shallower depth; is more correctly used in the context where Fincky has mistakenly used "trolling" to describe perusing numerous sources of info. ;)

Very common mistake, so common in fact that the two are becoming interchangeable, only differentiated by the context! Sadly, this further signals the ongoing degradation of the English language…don't get me started on that! :p

@lsdbeta, I would actually call the loss of a word & subsequent confusion over meaning, de-evolution dude! :p

  • Only 24 watts :) seems like it's got a fairly good power rating :)

  • Would this monitor be okay for my Xbox as well as my PC?

Also, does anyone know how long the deal goes for?

    • Yes, it'll be fine. Just use HDMI to connect to your Xbox and DVI or VGA for your PC

      • Is the picture quality of the monitor itself okay though?

  • Anyone know how this is compared to my Dell 2408WFP?

  • Good deal, grabbed one. Delivery time is 2-3 weeks, but I have had horror experiences with them before…really hope this one goes more smoothly.

    • I brought the 23" from them a month or so ago that was featured on here, delivery was great, under 7 days and good communication.

  • We bought this a few weeks ago. It is a jolly nice monitor. If you're thinking of buying it, do.

  • the offer finished already..

    • Their ebay store run out of stock, maybe they'll get more in soon.

  • +2

good price, but they are also available on the Dell Outlet for $185 (limited availability, be quick). Brand new, with delivery, 1yr wty

    http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…

  • how come the one from the Dell Outlet only offer 1 year warranty while the ebay offer 3..? @__@

    • Dell Outlet is always only 12mths as standard, thats why it's a little cheaper.
Monitors can't have the wty upgraded, while systems can go to 3yrs.

  • Looks like they got more but at $209 here:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dell-ST2420L-Full-HD-Monitor-24-24-in…

    • If your a little late and still want the product demand $199. Send them a message saying you'll refuse to pay $209 and will only accept $199. If enough of us send that message they may reduce the price. If they don't, simply refuse or go ahead and pay an extra $10. It's not my money it's yours you may do as you please with it!!!
